We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Molly Peyton White. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Molly Peyton below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Molly Peyton with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
My parents. Growing up we were homeschooled due to competitive sports with intense schedules. I watched my parents pick up multiple jobs to make sure we were able to do the sports and activities we enjoyed. I saw how hard they hustled and now am able to do the same for myself
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
When I was eighteen I moved away from home to pursue modeling. At the time I was back and forth from NYC to North Carolina figuring things out. I landed in LA in 2019 and have been here on and off with Covid. During Covid I was able to spend time in Miami where I discovered a local casting company had acting classes. I wasn’t necessarily interested in acting, but felt like maybe I needed to branch into commercials. I ended up falling in love, developing a reel and scoring some amazing representation.
Two years later I have an amazing Women’s Hockey movie coming soon, a handful of commercials and a Christmas movie to look forward to.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Being a gymnast really shaped who I am today. The intense training regime mixed with the love I had for the sport gave me the skillset I have today to work in this business. Being any kind of athlete teaches discipline, focus and patience. All three of those things are needed in my everyday life. I am still early in my journey but I think keeping focus and prioritizing who you want to become is important.
What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
They made me work. I love my parents and am so grateful for the things they taught me. They really impacted me by working at a young age which really helped prepare me for the adult world (especially in Hollywood.) I have been juggling multiple side hustles or part time jobs since I was fourteen. Working a couple jobs at a time while also shaping my craft hasn’t ever bothered me. I think keeping busy helps my mental and physical health during times like the strike or when auditions are slow.
