We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Mommy’s Girl a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Mommy’s Girl , really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
Mommy’s girl came to light due to there being no outlets for girls and women who have lost their mothers to express their selves. Our organization is ran by 5 women who have lost their mothers and are dedicated to creating a safe haven for those who are on the same journey. Our purpose is driven by the ability to help girls and women who have lost their mothers. This is not a journey you have to be on alone and our drive is to ensure all Mommy’s girls have a home.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Mommy’s girl is an organization for girls and women who have lost their mothers. This organization is designed to give girls and women a safe haven to instill confidence, provide guidance, and offer unlimited mentorship. We offer weekly zoom calls were women are able to express their emotions about their current journey. The most exciting part about Mommy’s Girl is the sisterhood that is built, the events that are executed, and the life longs bonds that are created. We will be hosting a colors and convo in July 2023. It is a spin to standard sip and paints and will allow Mommy’s girls to discuss different topics that we experience through out our journey.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The qualities that have improved our journey is our support system, communication, and transparency . Our advice to everyone on their entrepreneurial journey is to follow the steps above. It is imperative that you have a genuine support system that believes in your vision and is willing to help you grow. Communication and transparency is the key to any successful business’. We have learned that with these two skills we are able to effective run our business and have amazing results.
How would you spend the next decade if you somehow knew that it was your last?
As an organization, the main challenge we face here at Mommy’s Girl is balancing our journey along with helping women on their personal journey. Losing a parent is neve easy and it is Definitely not easy loosing the women who gave you life. Sometimes we are faced with instances where girls needs us to pour into them and we are dealing with our own journey. We signed up to this role so that we can help others women navigate life without their mothers but along with that is a constant reminder for us that we do not have our queens here with us. Each day we fight through our battles in order to build up the community around us. Day by day we are all working together to be the best Mommy’s girls we can be.
