Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Momo Boosamra. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Momo, so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.
– Child-like curiosity. In a world filled with an overwhelming amount of things sent our way to “influence”, i like to find that wonder and magic that so many of us lose as adults. Not only being open-minded, but being adaptable, teachable, and passionate through it all. Our dreams aren’t planted in us for no reason – it’s up to us to nurture that seed into whatever magic fuels us most. and when it all goes astray – re-grounding with what sparks our imagination the most
– taking criticism as a challenge rather than a threat – nobody can be you. you must be you. there’s no rules to the art of creating in any way, so do not restrict yourself from what feeds your soul
– no matter how many times someone may attempt to confine you – they can never take away your magic

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
My entry into the fashion world is not the story of most – a big dreamer born into the hands of a small-town society. The kind of come-up that no industry plant could ever replicate.
Going to college like most do, I hoped to find a “use” in society as I never felt my skills were of use. Thankfully, I somehow fell into the hands of the CMU fashion department, which is where I found myself in the possession of a quite miraculous skill – a talent beyond my wildest imagination. Visionary talent is not the kind of thing you expect to have – but I always knew I did.
I began learning the basics of design and found myself to be much larger of a dreamer than most, with a kind of edge that would allow me to create relentlessly. After winning my first award for being Most Avante-Garde at CMU, there was a feeling I knew I would need to fill the world with. Pure magic, all made by the tips of my fingers.
I entered into the “small business” world within the past 3 years, trying to continue my passion while also making profit to continue the process of creating my brand. MMOMOLICIOUSSS, my brand today, has become an outlet for not only my own vision, but has give me the opportunity to build my team, and bring forward more complex projects, such as NYFW, working with custom clientele, and providing a sustainable environment for myself and the world. I have been able to delve into high-fashion wear, as well as festival couture, MOMO SWIM, and various projects that have inspired myself and others.
My world is filled with color, creativity, imagination, and passion. I love fashion, the art of creating, and have so much planned for things alike, such as production, innovation, and inspiration. To show all the other dreamers, the misfits and the outcasts, that not only are we worthy – we are magic

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Resilience –
Truth is not everyone will like what you do, what you make, or even who you are. Not everyone will see your vision, and sometimes that can feel deafening. especially going to college for a creative degree – it can be difficult to swallow a critique you might not have expected, or know how to navigate.
Being prideful in what you stand for & create is the first step, and to build that confidence comes with knowing the strength in growth. The world is an ugly place a lot of the time, so to find beauty, and even magic can be a saving grace
Authenticity –
The one thing nobody can ever teach you about or take you away from is yourself. Surrounded by carbon copies of one another, finding what makes me, ME has done wonders for me as it has others. It can be a scary thing to show up as yourself despite the overwhelming reality that most haven’t met with themselves in such way. It may trigger people, it may inspire people, but either way i refuse to let anyone or anything get in the way of the magic that makes me feel
Innovation & Inspiration –
In a “everything has already been done” age, my creativity comes less from the inspiration of others and rather the visions planted in my spirit. No matter how many classes I have almost failed, I never have felt a loss for what you cannot teach – but a few are born with instead. I’m not sure why I was chosen to be an icon, but I was. The kind of thing that you can’t really explain – but you just know.
Innovation to me is much more than creating “new”, but instead to make purpose of what we already have. The world is about to be a ball of fire and somehow we have to deconstruct all concepts of consumerism we ever knew – creating from the rubble and finding spark in the most powerful of ways.
Whenever I lose inspiration, I find myself revisiting childlike ways and becoming in tune to the visionary imagination i’ve been blessed with. Coloring, exploring, play.

Tell us what your ideal client would be like?
Anyone who isn’t scared to be themselves in the best way. Outlandishly sexy beings with the courage to take risks, be one of a kind, and not just wear clothes but be a piece of the artwork itself.
I love making clothes and the creative process in many projects, but it is not just about the design I make – it’s about the c*nt.
I am inspired heavily by drag queens, and anyone who can appreciate a theatrical, full- scope experience. Hair, makeup, set and stage, sound, lighting, choreography, visuals, styling, and the category that is : body. Emphasizing what it is that makes us feel the most – us. Whatever it may be, if you aren’t feeling like you’ve done it all you’re
not doing enough.
To put it simple- My work is for the girls, gays, and theys. I was put on this earth to help the bimbos pop what’s needed.
