Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Momolu (momo) Sherif. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Momolu (momo), we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
I always felt that I was put on this Earth to do something special. When I was a kid my teachers always told my parents that I would go places and that I would impact people on a large scale. In 2018 I had to have multiple brain surgeries to a brain aneurism. The doctors call my aneurism the “widow maker” I am not married but you get it. I made it through that pretty much unscathed. I am able to move forward, I am able to create my our destiny and walk on my journey still. Understanding that blessing, I know that I am here to make an impact. I am here to support my family and friends. I think I will be able to change peoples lives for the better in the future. That incident changed my outlook on life and gave me purpose to not take life for granted and to really live to the max each and every day.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am a cofounder of Kozy Brand. Shoutout to my cofounder Jordan Collins first and foremost. Kozy is a lifestyle brand that started as an idea in 2020. It has now blossomed not only into apparel, home goods, but charitable efforts for mental health and awareness. Kozy is built on confidence and authenticity. When you put on our apparel or light our candles we want you to feel GREAT about yourself. We want you to exude supreme conviction in who you are. Kozy is for everyone and a brand designed for you to be your true self. As it stands today you can find us @_staykozy on instagram and staykozy.com
What I feel makes Kozy special is that not only the quality of the garments (they are elite and you will not want to take off your hoodie set and crewecks) but the partnerships forming for mental health awareness.
Be on the lookout for new apparel in December with proceeds going to special foundations near and dear to our hearts. 2025 stands to be a big year for our company and we hope that you all come support our mission as we strive to enhance the lives of people in our community.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Three qualities that I think are big for me personally is 1, unwavering faith/belief. People will shoot down your ideas, people will for sure hate on you- some people who you thought were your friends and or supporters. However do not be deterred. Believe in yourself, believe in your vision. It is your journey for a reason
2- I would say is the ability to hustle. I guess you can say that is work ethic. If you want something, you have to go get it. No one is going to save you. No one is giving you free handouts. You have to make it happen and go get it! Get up and get to it.
3- Curiosity. My mother used to tell me the school master was once a school boy. The only way the school boy can become a master is by asking questions, asking for help. Ask for help, ask for support, ask away. If you do not ask, the answer is always no.
My advice to anyone starting their own journey is to be fearless. Who cares what people think, who cares what people say. Do what you want because at the end of the day this is your life, you get to create it. I always think that you will regret not going for it. You would rather try and fail rather thank not have tried at all.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
We absolutely are looking for folks to collaborate with. We are open to collaborating with other unique and authentic apparel and home good brands.. We are most definitely open to collaborating with charities, and non profits. With percentage of proceeds to go to that organization. We have done a few collaborations that have brought exposure to everyone’s mission. To anyone that is open to collaborating, please contact me. If you are looking to give back to your community, help others with their mental health, and of course make elite products that will stand the test of time, Kozy is the brand you want to partner with.
