Meet Mona Lee

We recently connected with Mona Lee and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Mona, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
I got my resilience from my children. Two months prior to the pandemic, I was pregnant with my first child. Two months later, my then boyfriend was laid off from his high paying job. However, we banded together and worked on our issues to become the best parents we could be for our child. There were extreme challenges along the way, however, seeing how strong and passionate our daughter was, we continued to overcome our struggles and continued to strive for better for the future.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am a mother of two, chief marketing officer of Kawa Media Group, photographer on the side (colourandphotos), and a constant student.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
1. Learning from others. If you don’t surround yourself with people that are more successful than you, then you will not be able to strive to become more successful. 2. Research. Research is the field you want to become successful in. The internet is a powerful tool, which should be taken as an advantage.
3. Humble yourself. Sometimes, it is so easy to become absorbed into your accomplishments which hinders your ability to continue to grow.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
My husband. He has been my rock in growing mentality. He is not easily swayed nor hindered like I am, so he keeps me grounded in every aspect. He motivates me to challenges me intellectually. Although, he will not hold back when it comes to criticism which is a double edged sword at times.
