We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Monica V. Seide. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Monica V. below.
Hi Monica V., you’ve got such an interesting story, but before we jump into that, let’s first talk about a topic near and dear to us – generosity. We think success, happiness and wellbeing depends on authentic generosity and empathy and so we’d love to hear about how you become such a generous person – where do you think your generosity comes from?
Growing up as a little girl, I always watched my mother go above and beyond—not just for our family, but for anyone she encountered. Even in the smallest moments, her kindness and generosity stood out. She had a heart that gave without expecting anything in return, and that left a lasting impression on me.
During my childhood, there was a period when I wasn’t living with my mother—I was staying with my aunt. I remember every Christmas, I would receive a big bag of toys. I never knew who it came from, but it meant the world to me. At a time when I didn’t have my parents around, those gifts filled a deep emotional void. It wasn’t just about the toys—it was the feeling of being seen, loved, and remembered.
Honestly, I feel like generosity is something my entire family carries in their hearts. Watching my aunt and even my cousins, I see that same spirit of giving. Especially my mother, she had a heart of gold! She’s truly is my biggest inspiration. It’s always been a part of who we are. All of those acts of love and kindness over the years have truly sown a seed in me.
Truth be told, I just love giving. It’s one of the things that brings me the most joy. I don’t do it for recognition—it simply makes me happy. It’s not something I try to do; it’s just who I am.
There was a divine healing in those moments—something bigger than just receiving. It’s what inspired me to become someone who gives freely and intentionally. I believe generosity is one of the greatest qualities a person can have, and I’m grateful it was nurtured in me from such a young age.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’m a middle school teacher and love what I do especially molding the future generation & having an impact on them. For a long time, I thought I was going to become a therapist because that’s what I’ve always desired to do. Eventually, I plan to return to school and pursue that, God willing.
Right now, I’m focused on building my nonprofit, which is in the process of being officially incorporated through the state. I’m excited because this will allow me to expand the services I can provide and truly make a lasting impact.
Ultimately, I want to do more with An Acts of Love. That’s my heart, and I’m driven to make a difference in people’s lives.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Honestly, I believe there are more than just three qualities that are important to carry throughout your journey. For me, some of the most impactful have been resiliency, perseverance, commitment to growth, integrity, humility, and—most importantly—trusting God and holding on to what He’s spoken over your life.
There were times when people would suggest different paths for me—not because they meant any harm, but simply because they didn’t understand the vision that the Lord had given me. And that’s okay. Sometimes, the journey God sets before you won’t make sense to others. At times, it may not even make sense to you. But that’s where faith comes in. Trust what God has placed in your heart.
I’ve had moments of frustration—wondering, “God, when will things change for me?” But even in the waiting, I stayed committed to what He told me. I knew I was going to see the fruit of it. That’s why it’s so important to hearken to the voice of God. When you know what He’s said, you can be steadfast and immovable. You learn to trust Him—and trust yourself—on a deeper level.
Adaptability is another major key. Life will shift. Plans may fall through. But your ability to adjust without losing sight of the vision is what helps you keep moving forward.
And finally, surround yourself with people, ask questions, and stay teachable. We don’t know everything, and that’s why community is so important. There will always be someone who has insight you haven’t discovered yet. That’s where humility and networking come into play. Be willing to say, “How did you do this?” or “Can you show me the way?” That openness can lead you through doors you never imagined.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Absolutely, I’m definitely open to partnering and collaborating with others. I believe collaboration is essential for growth and impact, especially when you’re building something with purpose. I’m looking to connect with individuals, organizations, ministries, and businesses who share a heart for service, generosity, and community empowerment.
Whether it’s through outreach, mentorship, education, or providing resources to those in need, I’m drawn to people who genuinely want to make a difference—those who don’t just talk about change but are actively working toward it.
I’m especially interested in collaborating with therapists, educators, nonprofit leaders, faith-based organizations, and creatives who can bring fresh ideas and expertise to help expand the vision. At the end of the day, it’s about doing more together than we could ever do alone—and making sure that love is at the center of everything we build.
