Meet Monique Baisden

Monique, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

As a Christian believer, I found my purpose by seeking God. Several years ago, over a span of several months, I continuously asked God in my prayer and meditation time to show me why He created me and to tell me what He placed me on this Earth to do. In a series of visions and dreams, God began to answer me. Furthermore, over the years, I have received confirmation about my purpose from the places and environments that God has allowed me to be in, the situations He has put me in, and things that He allowed me to experience that confirmed to me who He created me to be and what He called me to do. Additionally, when I am in the center of my purpose, I have peace, I feel fulfilled (and nothing else makes me feel this fulfilled), and most importantly, I am bringing glory to God, while also positively impacting, influencing, or changing someone else’s life, while also leading them to God’s will for their lives, as well.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

My name is Monique C. Baisden and I am a multifaceted, purpose-driven, and mission-oriented servant of God, storyteller, and change agent.

In terms of ministry, I currently operate as a certified Christian Life Coach. In previous seasons of my life, I served on praise teams, sang in choirs and on worship teams, and served in leadership at my local church. As I know that I am called to counseling ministry, my future goal includes becoming a credentialed Pastoral Counselor.

Professionally, I am a professional writer and storyteller who tells stories for music, media, TV, and film. As a professional writer, I have previously written for FreddyO.com, Type II Nation, Bold Favor Magazine, and served as a Staff Writer and Field Writer for TeamJesusMag.com. My writing skills also extends to writing content for my own blog and other blogs. I am also a self-published author who published my first book, “Single and Set Apart For a Season: A Book of Prayers, Declarations, and Scriptural Inspiration for Single Christians” in 2017. In 2023, I designed and published my 2nd book, “Let Us Pray: A 12-Month Prayer Journal”. Both books can be purchased on Amazon.

In terms of music, I am a professional singer, songwriter, executive producer, and music video director. As a songwriter, I have been writing songs since I was a teenager, and professionally I have been writing and producing songs, along with a host of other songwriters and music producers, since 2008. My most notable song and music video, as of right now, is a global advocacy music video entitled “Enough Is Enough” that was released in 2020 under my former company, 4 The Kingdom Entertainment, along with our partner company, MD Simmons Productions. As of today, “Enough Is Enough” has received notable recognition and achievements from film festivals from across the country, and has reached and touched lives in other parts of the world. In 2023, I wrote “Enough Is Enough”, as a cinematic short story, and it placed as a semi-finalist in Screencraft’s 2024 Cinematic Short Story competition.

As a professional singer, I have sung with The SEEiT Choir, a corporate performance choir, since 2014. With the SEEiT Choir, I have had the opportunity to sing and appear in Tyler Perry’s “A Madea Family Funeral” and “A Fall from Grace”, Fox’s TV show “Star”, and Lifetime Television’s “The Rap Game”. I have also had the opportunity to participate in other incredible performances, shows, and events on local and national platforms as a member of The SEEiT Choir.

In the field of media, I am a podcast host and interviewer. I have had my own podcast, “The Purpose-Driven Dreamchasers Podcast”, since 2018. For this podcast, I interview multifaceted, purpose-driven dreamchasers who come from all backgrounds of life, and are well-known and well-respected professionals in their respective industries. Some are household names, and others are not, however, what they all have in common is their faith in God.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Three Qualities That Were Most Impactful In My Journey:
1. Believing in who God created me to be in terms of my identity and purpose.
2. Being fearless and unafraid in taking strategic risks that took me out of my comfort zone, but propelled me into my destiny, purpose, and calling.
3. Praying for and seeking mentors, destiny helpers, and purpose partners who were like-minded and like-spirited and connecting with them for purposeful reasons, assignments, projects, etc.

My advice to those who are early in their journeys:
Don’t be afraid to take the risks that others are afraid to take. Seek out and connect with coaches and mentors in your industry who are on the level that you are trying to get to, and who have been where you are trying to go. Connect with people who are like-minded and like-spirited, and with those have similar goals, on a genuine and purposeful level. You can get to where you are going a lot faster with the right people around you. Don’t listen to the naysayers or dreamkillers. They can’t see what you can see and many of them haven’t been where you are trying to go. Follow your spirit. Follow your dreams, even when it’s hard. Continue to be consistent, show up, and continue to do what you need to do to move forward and achieve your goals, and walk in your purpose and calling.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

I am always looking for people to partner and collaborate with for various projects. Currently, I am looking to expand my network with those who are in the music, theater, media, TV, and film industries, especially those who are in the inspirational/faith-based space. You can connect with me via email at [email protected].
