We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Monique Waltower. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Monique below.
Monique , looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
I get my work ethic from my mom. She worked relentless all her life. I watched her do what it took to keep food on the table, the bills paid and a roof over our heads.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
Hello, we are M2censational Events. We are a mother and daughter event planning and decor company, based in Philadelphia PA. We the company was created after the loss of my mother to keep her legacy alive. My mother always believed lifes moments should be celebrated and she known for throwing great parties. For me there are two highlights of the company. first it’s creating a legacy with my daughter. Then it’s the creative side. I love creating different design concepts. Currently, we are working on rebranding and moving in a different direction. We will be focusing on offering more budget friendly services.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The quality I believe we understand is the most impactful is consistency
The skills we’ve acquired are always changing. Since we have to change to the trends
The knowledge we’ve gained is understanding success doesn’t have overnight
What is the number one obstacle or challenge you are currently facing and what are you doing to try to resolve or overcome this challenge?
Currently our biggest obstacle/challenge would have to be client engagement. We were gaining momentum. Then, I had some pregnancy related complications and it slowed us down. So, now we’re focused on re-engaging with our audience.
