Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Montana Rose. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Montana, so good to have you with us today. We’ve got so much planned, so let’s jump right into it. We live in such a diverse world, and in many ways the world is getting better and more understanding but it’s far from perfect. There are so many times where folks find themselves in rooms or situations where they are the only ones that look like them – that might mean being the only woman of color in the room or the only person who grew up in a certain environment etc. Can you talk to us about how you’ve managed to thrive even in situations where you were the only one in the room?
I’ve learned how to build teams, think innovatively and strategically, and speak with influence. I use my differences as an advantage, I’m the person people call when they want something expansive, impactful, and unique. I’m specialized. If you know BMW’s they call this the M package.
Often, people assume that because I’m beautiful and look young, I don’t pack a punch. But looks can be deceiving, I’m extremely dedicated and have the strategic mind to back it up. My dad has been teaching me chess when I was young and to think this way on purpose and my energy is naturally magnetic and I hold strong influence because I also have the gift of future vision.
What truly makes me effective is my ability to speak to people’s hearts with honesty. I’m authentically myself, and when my energy is aligned and focused, people feel inspired and trust that I’ll lead them with excellence to the end…and I genuinely love people.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I come from a family that specializes in experiences. Since I was a kid, my dad always gave us the most memorable ones, like flying in a plane for my 18th birthday. That foundation shaped how I see the world: whether in business, relationships, or community, creating meaningful experiences is something I can’t help but do.
In business, that translates into helping brands and developers feel seen through experiential marketing and placemaking strategies. I love transformation as a creative process, especially when it comes to designing immersive brand activations, pop-ups, and tenant engagement events. Watching people connect with a space in new ways is powerful, and honestly, I’m addicted to the dopamine rush it brings. As a kid I said I had OCD (obsessive customization disorder) and oh the wonderful places its taken me.
With public art installations and large-scale murals, the joy feels even more primal. Leaving your mark on a city is territorial in one sense, but it’s also about creating beauty that neighbors, tenants, and visitors can enjoy every day. At the same time, it drives foot traffic and expands the city economically. For me, that’s the ultimate win-win, and my motto has always been: win-win for all, always.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Being coachable, having a hunger for knowledge, and knowing how to identify good mentors and stick with them while building authentic relationships have been key to my growth in experiential marketing and placemaking. I also have this ‘hardcore gentleness’ about myself that I helps bring a joy to my goals.
My advice to anyone building a career in the creative industries is this: identify your strongest skills early, find ways to monetize them, and align yourself with people whose values and results inspire you. When you provide value while staying authentic, you naturally attract the right collaborators, whether they’re developers, brands, or city partners. Oh and only take advice and criticism from someone who’s life you want/admire.
Self-concept work, personal development and my yearly Tulum reset in the jungle have also strengthened my communication, leadership skills, and helps me re calibrate on whats important, where I’m headed and to transmute the lessons from the previous year. These practices have helped me build resilience, connect more deeply, and leave a lasting positive impression ,qualities that are essential when creating public art installations, brand activations, and community experiences that bring people together.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
At Fill The City we collaborate with forward-thinking partners who want to transform spaces and create unforgettable experiences. We specialize in placemaking, experiential marketing campaigns, public art installations, and large-scale OOH mural advertising that help cities, developers, and brands connect with their communities in authentic and measurable ways.
The partners we work best with include real estate developers, Business Improvement Districts (BIDs), consumer brands, cultural institutions, and city organizations who are looking to:
1. Activate properties with hand-painted murals, large-scale art, and outdoor advertising campaigns.
2. Design experiential events, tenant programming, and brand activations that drive engagement and generate press.
3. Elevate spaces through creative placemaking strategies that boost visibility, increase foot traffic, and add long-term economic value.
We’ve delivered projects in major markets like Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Austin, Tulum, and San Francisco, and we’re always seeking new opportunities to help visionary partners stand out.
