Hi Montserrat, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
My work ethic comes from my amazing parents. My dad worked hard to achieve the American dream. He always had one job but took on multiple projects to help us move to America. His perseverance showed me that dedication can overcome any obstacle.
My mom, a stay-at-home mom, always had a side business, whether it was her successful cookie business or her translation services. She ensured we gave 100% in everything we did, from school to sports. Her mantra was if we weren’t going to give it our all, we shouldn’t do it at all.
Together, their relentless perseverance and unwavering commitment have shaped my work ethic, driving me to strive for excellence in all I do.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I work as a Customer Success Manager for a healthcare tech company, where I help clients maximize the value of our solutions. This role is fulfilling because I get to support healthcare providers in delivering better patient care through technology.
However, my true creative outlet has been content creation, which I started during college to cope with the challenges of engineering school. This journey has allowed me to express myself, connect with others, and build a personal brand. Whether it’s collaborating with brands or sharing everyday moments, content creation continues to be a source of joy and inspiration for me.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back, three qualities have been most impactful in my journey: my drive to always improve, my ability to adapt, and my “yes girl” energy. My drive pushes me never to settle for the current version of myself, always striving for growth and betterment. Adaptability has allowed me to thrive in various circumstances, adjusting to new challenges and environments with ease. Finally, my willingness to say yes to new opportunities has opened doors I never imagined, leading to personal and professional growth.
For those early in their journey, my advice is to embrace these qualities. Always seek ways to better yourself and never settle for mediocrity. Develop the ability to adapt to changing situations; flexibility is a crucial skill in today’s fast-paced world. Lastly, don’t be afraid to put yourself out there and try new things. Experimentation and openness to new experiences can lead to unexpected and rewarding opportunities.
Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
My partner of seven years and my family have been instrumental in helping me overcome challenges and build essential skills. My partner has been a steadfast source of support and motivation. Through every high and low, he’s encouraged me to keep pushing forward, especially during times when I felt like giving up. His belief in me has been a driving force, inspiring me to persevere and reach for my goals.
Equally important has been the unwavering support of my family. They’ve always been my biggest cheerleaders, providing a solid foundation of encouragement and love. Their belief in my abilities has given me the confidence to take risks and pursue my dreams. Together, my partner and family have created a nurturing environment that allows me to face challenges head-on and strive for success. Their support has been a cornerstone of my journey, and I am deeply grateful for their influence in shaping the person I am today.
