Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Morgan Basile. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Morgan, so happy to have you with us today and there is so much we want to ask you about. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others developed certain skills or qualities that we are struggling with can be helpful. Along those lines, we’d love to hear from you about how you developed your ability to take risk?
I have never been one to take risks growing up. I was very much someone who liked to stay in my comfort zone and close to home. However, in 2021 I took my first big risk and moved from Cincinnati, Ohio to Dallas, Texas. I left my family, friends, and job behind to be with my now husband. I did a lot of praying and decided to finally follow through with my gut feelings encouraging me to take this risk. I had a job in Dallas for about a year working at a hospital and then decided to take my next big risk and switch jobs to be in a private practice clinic at The Fit Pelvis where I would have to use skills I had never learned about, including marketing and social media, which was completely out of my comfort zone. This was another big risk where I trusted my gut and my faith. I started to think differently. I encouraged myself that this was the time in my life to take risks and if it didn’t work out then there’s always a way to figure things out. I’m a big believer in making mistakes is where you grow the most. I didn’t want to miss out on potential opportunities. I have gained so much knowledge in and out of my field as a pelvic floor physical therapist that I would’ve never gained if I hadn’t taken those two big risks.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am at Pelvic Floor and Orthopedic Physical Therapist at The Fit Pelvis serving the North Dallas region. I have a passion for helping patients feel empowered, strong, and confident in their bodies. I specialize in the pelvic floor but use my orthopedic knowledge to treat the patient as a whole. The majority of my patients are dealing with symptoms involving bladder, bowel, and sexual dysfunctions. These are areas that can strongly affect someones quality of life when not working properly. I also help a lot of women feel confident in preparing their bodies for their birth and returning to activities postpartum. The most exciting part of my job is when I see changes in symptoms within one treatment session and the look on someones face when they can do an activity pain-free that would originally cause them pain. I have a strong passion to help others and encourage everyone to seek out a pelvic floor physical therapist as it is not talked about enough!
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The three qualities that were most impactful on my journey to where I am at are determination, passion, and living a healthy lifestyle. I encourage people to dive deep into their thoughts and figure out what gives them passion or sets their hearts on fire and follow your gut! Always have a goal to strive for whether it be personal or business. You can create the life you want but always remember it is not the easy way out.
Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
The most impactful thing my parents did for me was the constant support to follow my dreams. School wasn’t easy for me and they were always on my side and there for me through the ups and downs. They raised me to be independent and make my own decisions, which has lead me to where I am at now. I can’t thank them enough for the continued support they have always provided and am grateful for the many lessons they have taught me.
