Meet Morgan Chance

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Morgan Chance a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Morgan, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
Being born in Pennsylvania, western fashion was not a thing. I grew up in a family that was very engrained in the western community, going to rodeos, owning horses, etc. It taught me a lot growing up – hard work being one of those things. As I went to college and got away from my roots, I realized how much I truly loved the industry and had a passion for it. My favorite part? The fashion. I went to school for business and knew creating a boutique would be the perfect combination. I researched competitors and realized there were no boutiques that specialized in mid to plus size. I saw a gap and wanted to fill it.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I created The Backroad Babe, a western fashion boutique that specializes in mid to plus size, with the intent of serving an underserved market. As the boutique grew, so did my passion for the western industry. We expanded a lot over the years, moved states, and now opened a physical location in Stephenville, Texas.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I believe consistency and resiliency are the two most important traits I have to make this business successful. Some days are harder than others owning your own business but you need to show up, day in and day out.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
We are always looking for ambassadors for our boutique. Women who love western fashion or just love to expand their closets. You can email us at [email protected]
