Meet Morgan Combs

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Morgan Combs. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Morgan, so great to have you with us today. There are so many topics we want to ask you about, but perhaps the one we can start with is burnout. How have you overcome or avoided burnout?

I don’t think burnout is something you can fully avoid—there are so many factors that can lead to it, even when you’re handling things well. What is important is recognizing when it starts creeping in and making sure you’re taking care of yourself. Listening to your body, prioritizing rest, and giving yourself grace are key to healing. We all have hard days, but how we respond to them makes all the difference.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I’m a hairstylist with 7 years of experience and the proud owner of my own salon suite for nearly 2 years. I specialize in hair color—especially corrective work, lived-in color, and brunettes—as well as hand-tied extensions. I’m constantly investing in continued education and advanced techniques to make sure my clients always receive the best service and results possible.

In 2023, I made a big leap and relocated my business from Southeastern Ohio to Fort Worth, Texas—and it’s been one of the most rewarding decisions I’ve ever made. The growth I’ve experienced, both personally and professionally, has been incredible. I’m passionate about creating a welcoming, personalized space where clients feel heard, seen, and confident when they leave my chair.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Three qualities that have been the most impactful in my journey—and ones I highly recommend to new stylists—are being genuine, honest, and optimistic. I truly believe the reason I’ve earned respect from both clients and fellow stylists is because I keep it 100% real. I don’t sugarcoat things, and I don’t pretend to be someone I’m not.

Being yourself, admitting when you’re wrong, taking accountability, and keeping an open mind will take you so far in this industry—and in life. And if someone doesn’t respect that? That’s a reflection of them, not you. You were never meant to shrink yourself to fit into someone else’s broken version of success.

All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?

Wow… lately, the biggest challenge I’ve faced is accepting that not every dream is meant to become reality. Over the past couple of years, I’ve crossed paths with some truly disappointing people and companies who’ve burned me in ways I didn’t expect. It’s been a harsh but necessary lesson in self-worth.

I’ve had to slowly teach myself that no one will ever value me—or my business—the way I do. That kind of self-respect and confidence is crucial if you want to take your career to the next level. Not everything works out the way you hoped, but sometimes that’s just the redirection you needed to focus on what’s actually meant for you.
