Meet Morgan Muchori

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Morgan Muchori a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Morgan, so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?
My optimism is a product of the various life experiences I’ve encountered, both challenging and rewarding. Each hurdle I’ve faced has been an opportunity for personal growth and resilience. Through hardships, I’ve learned to find silver linings, appreciate small victories, and view setbacks as stepping stones towards something greater.

Moreover, my absolute trust in God has been a cornerstone of my optimism. Believing in a higher power has provided me with a sense of purpose, comfort, and the understanding that challenges are part of a greater plan. It’s the faith that even in the darkest moments, there’s a guiding force that leads to eventual triumph.

Having faith in God and trusting the journey allows me to approach life with a positive outlook. It’s a source of strength that empowers me to face uncertainties, knowing that I am not alone in my endeavors. This combination of life experiences and deep faith has shaped my perspective, fostering a resilient optimism that propels me forward, regardless of the circumstances.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
Hello, I’m Morgan Danielle, a passionate neonatal nurse, mother of two beautiful children – a lively boy and a precious newborn girl. My journey has always been about intertwining my love for nursing, fashion, and a deep desire to make a positive impact on those around me.

In addition to my role as a neonatal nurse, I am currently in the exciting process of rebranding my online boutique into a unisex clothing line named Muchori. This venture is an extension of my love for fashion and a testament to my belief in “Your Struggle is Not Your Identity.

What truly fuels my purpose is the commitment to building leaders within my community despite their circumstances or what life mat throw their way. I’ve cultivated a large network of mothers, fellow nurses, and individuals seeking motivation. Through various projects tailored for aspiring nurses, nurses, and mothers, I aim to inspire and empower. My ultimate goal is to show people that, with faith in God, they are capable of achieving anything, regardless of the situation.

I believe in the power of community, and I want to be a source of encouragement for those who may need that extra push to pursue their dreams. Whether it’s through nursing, fashion, or simply navigating the challenges of motherhood, I’m dedicated to fostering a sense of capability and resilience. I’m here to prove that, with faith and determination, we can overcome any obstacle and build a community of strong, motivated individuals.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back on my journey, three qualities that have been immensely impactful are resilience, self-love, and a mindset of abundance. Embracing these qualities has not only shaped my personal growth but has also influenced my professional and entrepreneurial endeavors.

Firstly, learning to love myself first has been transformative. It’s the foundation that allows me to navigate challenges with grace and authenticity. My advice for those starting their journey is to prioritize self-love. Celebrate your strengths, embrace your uniqueness, and be kind to yourself during setbacks.

Secondly, adopting the practice of not taking things personally has been a game-changer. Understanding that people’s actions often reflect their own experiences has allowed me to maintain focus on my goals without being weighed down by external opinions. My advice is to develop a thick skin, stay true to your vision, and let go of the need for validation from others.

Lastly, the belief that what you want, wants you, and having absolute faith in that principle has been a driving force. My advice is to keep going, always do your best, and understand that your best might vary from day to day. Ask questions, seek knowledge, and don’t make excuses. Changing your perspective and taking proactive steps are key to overcoming obstacles.

To those early in their journey, remember that setbacks are part of the process, but so is growth. Keep moving forward, be resilient, and never underestimate the power of continuous improvement. Believe in yourself, take action, and trust that the universe aligns with your efforts. Your journey is a testament to your strength and potential, so embrace it wholeheartedly.

Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?
These books, ‘The Four Agreements’ and ‘The Mastery of Self’ by Don Miguel Ruiz Jr., have been transformative in my life, offering profound wisdom that goes beyond mere clichés. The four principles laid out in ‘The Four Agreements’ — to be impeccable with your word, don’t assume, don’t take anything personally, and always do your best — are deceptively simple yet incredibly challenging.

Incorporating these principles into my life required a deep introspection and a conscious effort to break free from ingrained habits. The notion of being impeccable with my word pushed me to communicate with authenticity and integrity. It challenged me to choose my words wisely and be mindful of the impact they can have on others.

‘Don’t assume’ encouraged me to seek clarity in communication and avoid making unfounded judgments. This principle has been a reminder that assumptions can lead to misunderstandings, and embracing open dialogue is essential.

‘Don’t take anything personally’ has been a particularly powerful lesson. It taught me to detach from others’ opinions and actions, understanding that their behavior is a reflection of their experiences and not a commentary on my worth. This has been a liberating shift, allowing me to navigate life with a lighter heart.

‘Always do your best’ seems straightforward, but the real challenge lies in recognizing that your best can vary from day to day. It encouraged me to embrace a growth mindset and acknowledge that perfection is not the goal, but consistent effort is.

These principles have not only provided me with valuable nuggets of wisdom but have also compelled me to release limiting beliefs and let go of the need to control every aspect of life. The teachings have been instrumental in my journey towards self-discovery and personal growth, challenging me to live authentically and embrace the uncertainties of life with grace.
