Meet Morgan Pierce

We recently connected with Morgan Pierce and have shared our conversation below.

Morgan, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?

I think my resilience comes from being around maturer women for most of my upbringing. They instilled values in me they felt a young woman should have and spoke positively over my life. When I was met with challenging situations, I believe their encouragement throughout my life played a part in persevering. I was equipped with the mindset and attitude to know and do better.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I would describe myself as a creative at heart. Anything that has anything to do with color, creativity, art, etc…I want to be apart of. What I am most excited about is developing my own brands. They have been in the works for some time; I’ve put a lot of thought into them so to finally be at a point where I can hold product in my hand is a grand accomplishment.

The first project is my food-themed apparel company, “Visibly High”. It is the artistic manifestation of my love of food and laughter. “Visibly High” is scheduled to officially launch in August. My hope is to expand it to a global community where we discuss food and and other popular topics.

Following the launch of “Visibly High”, I will move onto developing my personal brand, my namesake, “Morgan Pierce”. Morgan Pierce will be a lifestyle brand that includes eyeglasses, women’s accessories and home decor.

I am also looking forward to collaborating with other artists and creatives as well.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Discernment
Resilience
Bravery

Discernment is important to be able to recognize opportunities when they become available. Removing distractions in your life can help with strengthening discernment. You have to develop somewhat of a tunnel vision when you’re reaching your goals. The more focused you are, the more likely you are to reach your destination in your desired time frame.

Resilience is the ability to recover or easily adjust to misfortune or change. When starting a new business, it can be daunting trying to convince others to pour into your vision. However, an entrepreneur must have the fortitude to keep going in down times. In uncertain times, you can build resilience by viewing challenges as learning opportunities to strengthen your business acumen.

Breaking away from a traditional work life can be intimidating. Income isn’t as consistent and it can be difficult to get support in the beginning. But some of the most successful people can tell you that being brave enough to take a chance on yourself is one the best investments you can make.

Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?

Over the past 12 months, I’d have to say my biggest area of growth has been strengthening my focus. I’ve been placing my energy towards efforts that bring me closer to the life I desire. I recently made a career change that will allow me to spend more time on my creative pursuits and focus is imperative.
Patience has also been helpful. I think most of enjoy immediate gratification but similar to when something is baking, it can’t be rushed. All the right ingredients along with the appropriate amount of time must culminate to come out perfectly.
