Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Morgan Wise. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Morgan with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
I credit my strong work ethic to my father, who owned his own business and was an entrepreneur in his younger years. Watching him build something from the ground up taught me the value of discipline, persistence, and taking pride in the work you do, even when no one is watching. On his side of the family, I was also surrounded by creativity — with musicians and artists of various types who inspired my eye for design and expression. Together, their influence has shaped the way I run my business today, blending structure with creativity, and driving my ongoing commitment to excellence, growth, and continued success.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
My passion for interior design was sparked in childhood, when I would spend hours rearranging my bedroom furniture and curating seasonal themes for my space. Even then, I had an instinct for how to bring a room together — not just to make it look beautiful, but to make it feel intentional, balanced, and inviting.
That passion truly came to life years later when I purchased my first home and took on a full renovation from top to bottom. I became completely immersed in the creative process, from selecting finishes and fixtures to designing functional, style-driven layouts. What began as a personal project soon turned into something bigger, as family and friends started turning to me for help with their own spaces — which ultimately led me to launch my business, Morgan Kay Interiors.
Today, I specialize in virtual design and in person full-space transformations, blending style with strategy to create environments that are not only visually compelling but also highly functional. I love incorporating vintage and one-of-a-kind finds to add character and warmth while keeping each space cohesive and elevated. My approach focuses on thoughtful details, smart layouts, and design that tells a story — helping my clients create spaces that stand out, photograph beautifully, and feel truly unforgettable.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back, the three most impactful things in my journey have been a strong work ethic, a creative eye for space and detail, and the ability to truly understand how people want to live or experience a space.
My work ethic, shaped by watching my father run his own business, taught me discipline, follow-through, and the willingness to do the unglamorous parts of building something. In interior design, that shows up in everything from long sourcing days and revisions to client communication and project management. My creative eye developed naturally over time, but especially through experimentation — moving furniture as a kid, redesigning my own home, and constantly observing color, texture, balance, and flow in different environments.
What advice would you give to someone early in their journey?
Start before you feel ready. Use your own space or a friend’s space as a portfolio. Photograph everything. Document your process. The real growth happens through doing, not waiting for the “perfect” moment or formal permission.
Develop your eye by studying spaces constantly — in hotels, restaurants, online, in vintage shops, and even in nature. Train yourself to notice proportions, lighting, flow, and balance.
Also, learn the business side early. Pricing, boundaries, contracts, timelines, and clear communication will protect your creativity and your time. Talent gets people in the door — but professionalism is what builds a sustainable and respected business.
And finally, don’t underestimate consistency. Showing up, following through, and continuing to refine your craft day by day will take you farther than talent alone ever could.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
The most impactful thing my parents ever did for me was give me the freedom to forge my own path. They never tried to force a version of success onto me or dictate what my career or life should look like. Instead, they trusted me to explore my interests, make my own choices, and learn through both opportunities and challenges. Knowing I had their unwavering support every step of the way gave me the confidence to take risks, follow my creative instincts, and build a career that feels authentic to who I am. That freedom, paired with their constant encouragement, is the foundation that allowed me to step fully into my purpose as an entrepreneur and creative.
