We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Mrs. Luberta Trammell a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Mrs. Luberta, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
I get my resilience from my Mother Mary Alice McCall she always knew how to make the best out of any situation despite any obstacles. My Mother never made any excuses she always focused on the solution. My Mother always said don’t beat yourself up over things you can’t change focus on the solution and keep GOD first.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
My main focus in life is to be happy at what I do. I sit in my present I don’t worry about the future or fault myself for the past. I want to continue to cook fresh food everyday from the heart. I want when people eat my food it create memories with every bite. Cooking on my food truck daily makes me very happy to make others happy. I’m also very big on education. I attained my Masters in Liberal Studies in 2012. My Mother always told me nothing dispels ignorance and apathy but knowledge. I also just wrote a Children’s book named “The little girl from Youngstown, Ohio with a food truck”, it’s a aspiring story that depicts the resilience of never giving up.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The three most prominent qualities I have is 1) always Look a person in their eyes claim your confidence. 2) Always keep a smile on your face 3) Write your goals down and work hard on them. My advice for the younger generation is to never take no for an answer always look at all angles of a situation and become well rounded. Sometimes you have to remove yourself in order to view yourself.
Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
Big Mary My Beautiful Mother has always taught me how to overcome obstacles. Failure is never an option always keep GOD first. Remember to only say positive things about yourself.
Be happy with your position on earth and leave a positive mark. Remember that everything will be okay because it always will be.
