Meet Mulalo Mabirimisa

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Mulalo Mabirimisa a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Mulalo, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?

I endured a lot of body shaming while growing up
Due to the fact that I was a skinny kid
Somewhere along early stages of teenage years I wore a lot of baggy to hide away the feeling of being too skinny
I started thinking positively and accepting my body time by time
Till I was able to wear stuff that showed a bit of skin
So I had to accept myself inorder to grow

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I am a clothing brand owner mainly focusing on luxury Streetwear and also I offer custom gift products (more like a side hustle ) also a student

PLXYKXD (playkid) is my clothing brand which I started in 2015 as hype beast was the it thing at the moment I wanted something to help people like me belong in a certain culture that felt a bit out of reach

And also being a huge fan of fashion
That passion drove me into wanting to create my own clothing brand

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

I’d say the three things that helped me
1. Remaining humble
A lot of individuals out there get a little bit of recognition and start treating people badly which is something my aura doesn’t align with

2. Prayer

In anything you do always include prayer
There’s a lot of forces out there that will fight with your spirit always make sure to remain spiritual strong through trial and tribulations

3. Learning to meditate
I’m always clouded by thoughts slot so learning how to control that feelings opened a lot of perspective within myself

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?

Honestly speaking

My mom
