Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Myrna Gale. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Myrna, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
My work ethic is deeply rooted in the example set by my mother, who was a hard-working woman. despite the challenges of raising five children on her own, with me being the youngest, she consistently demonstrated dedication and perseverance in her own pursuits. Her strong work ethic served as a guiding light for me, instilling the importance of diligence and the tireless effort she put into providing for her family. I was inspired by her unwavering commitment, I adopted a similar approach, understanding the value of hard work and the rewards it can bring. My mother’s influence has shaped my work ethic and continues to inspire me to strive for excellence in everything I do.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I have been the CEO of 3G Publishing, for fourteen years. As publisher, I have created a unique creative writing program for the city of Atlanta. My work extends beyond just publishing for children and adults that have a clear understanding of the literary world; I also prioritize giving a voice to seniors who may have untold stories but lack the ability to write or read. My goal is to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to share their stories, as I sincerely believe that every individual has a story worth telling. Through my dedication to this mission, I aim to empower and uplift people from all walks of life by providing them with a platform to express themselves through our creative writing program.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Communication skills are valuable when working with others. I am an effective communicator as well as an active listening, who has always worked in the community to help others. Listening to others while assisting them with their needs, I realized that these individuals had stories that can truly help others. So, I left the legal environment after 30 years to venture on a journey to help others share and accomplish their ideas and desires in whatever they wished to manifest into a reality. Developing communication skills can help you provide thoughtful responses and proactive solutions.
What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
My mother explained to me, that the world is round, and I should see it as a pie and I could have as much as I want, as long as my inner person was the only one that I listen too.
