We were lucky to catch up with Nadia Lanfranconi recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Nadia, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
I feel like every single questions has ultimately the same answer. God. Cause I don’t believe I could have done any of the things I’ve done all by my self, I couldn’t have overcome the amount of overwhelming pain life will give you all alone, same as I don’t believe we create our music all by our selves, it has to be drawn from a higher place and we merely are the willing hands to grab it. And if we don’t, nothing gets lost, simply someone else will.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’m from Italy but I’ve been based in La for many years. I love this Country, it feels like home, and that’s a first for me since my birth home never felt like home. I’ve always supported my self in this town with creative gigs, acting, modeling and music. Sometimes I have no idea how I managed to make it all work, I loved every creative endeavor I’ve had the chance to be a part of, altho music was always the one that made my heart feel alive, more than anything else in the world, since as long as I can remember. Speaking of, I think the world could be such a beautiful place to live in if only we could find harmony with its nature, I’m not a huge fan of how things work on this planet but there are 3 things I absolutely love : music, dogs and pizza.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Growing up I never listened to anyone who told me what I was supposed to do or become. Thank God, that’s in fact the one I listen to.
Nobody outside of you knows what’s right or wrong for you, if you’re respectful, if you’re not hurting anyone, if you’re being truly authentic there’s no reason to choose anything else than what you love.
I know that’s not what society has taught us, they want us to fall in line or as I call it “fall in lies”.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I’m always into meeting new artists, other songwriters, music people that you can get mutual inspiration from and create the opportunity to make each other better by being exposed to our different creative ideas. You know, you vibe with people, you share stories, maybe a meal cause empty stomach is no good for us Italians, and then you find mutual feelings and you write about it. I do have 1 rule tho: no pineapple on pizza. Instagram has become the easiest way to connect lately.
