We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Nadine Robinson. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Nadine below.
Nadine, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
In the aftermath of a challenging 2017, I discovered solace within the intimate confines of my journal. As I immersed myself in this sacred practice, I unearthed facets of my being that I had long neglected, attempted to escape from, or hidden away. Through this transformative journey, I witnessed a profound shift in my life and overall state of being.
I firmly believe that the fusion of writing therapies and life coaching has been divinely inscribed upon my heart. I share this not as a cliché, but as an unshakable truth. The moment I embraced this vocation, a resounding clarity enveloped me—I had found my calling. My purpose is to carve out a space for individuals who mirror my own experiences, all while forging connections that bridge the gap between communal and individual healing and growth.
This journey is more than a profession; it’s a sacred calling, a divine orchestration, and a testament to the power of transformation. As I step into this realm with conviction, I invite others to join me on a path of self-discovery, healing, and the boundless possibilities that unfold when we honour the narratives within us.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am wholeheartedly dedicated to delivering dynamic and impactful therapeutic services, specifically crafted to empower individuals within vulnerable communities. My grand vision extends beyond traditional therapy, aiming to spark self-discovery, foster authentic connections, and fortify emotional and mental resilience. But here’s the thrilling part—beyond that, I’m steadfast in my commitment to dismantling any lingering traces of discrimination within institutions and organizations.
My expertise in expressive writing techniques has been a game-changer, producing profound results across the spectrum of well-being—whether it’s mental, emotional, physical, or spiritual. Wearing multiple hats as an educator, coach, and advocate, I’m eager to invite you into the vibrant tapestry of my journey. Notably, I’ve crafted transformative journaling workbooks like ‘Returning Home to Self’ (October 2021) and ‘Unfolding with Ease’ (July 2022), along with my debut poetry collection ‘All of Me,’ launched in August 2023. This year (2023) brought the honour of being recognized as the Top Interpersonal Skills Voice on LinkedIn for my impactful contributions.
Beyond accolades, my collaborations with esteemed organizations and appearances on wellness podcasts and live events have collectively reshaped the narrative surrounding holistic well-being. What fuels my passion most is the joy of using my knowledge, wisdom, and creativity to uplift individuals from all walks of life. This isn’t just a profession—it’s a profound journey of healing, one that rejuvenates not just those I serve but rejuvenates me as well.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
This is a good question! I would say, being compassionate, having an open-mind and being confident in advocating for yourself. To embody these three characteristics you have to first want to meet yourself and accept all that you are – flaws and all. For some, this can be hard to do, as we are conditioned out of our innate ability to be our authentic selves, and even though it can feel daunting to get to that place of self-love and ownership over Self, it is the key to unlocking all the possibilities that await you.
For me showing myself compassion first and foremost, makes it easier for me to do the same for others. in turn, this teaches others how to show up for me in the same way.
Unfortunately, the world that we live in would gladly see us walk around with our heads down, ears closed and eyes shut. When you allow yourself to see beyond what it placed in front of you, and begin the process of questioning things, you can begin the process of exercising and opening your mind.
Lastly, you have to speak up and speak out about what you deserve, believe and stand for (unapologetically). Again, this might feel overwhelming but the reality is only you know what you want for yourself and what life you want to live, so until you become clear on it, you will always be in some state of scarcity/stagnancy.
What is the number one obstacle or challenge you are currently facing and what are you doing to try to resolve or overcome this challenge?
Letting go of the irrational and insignificant lies that I tell myself. These lies are often very small and nowhere close to coming to fruition unless I give them the power to grow. It could be as simple as “I can do XYZ” when the reality is that the lie stems from an experience or programming that I have chosen to internalise.
This is something that we all do, we collect little lies along the day and compile them into a skewed perception puzzle and then allow ourselves to get confused as to why the puzzle pieces don’t fit together. The fact of the matter it you have to chuck them into the bin and keep it pushing!
In order to release the lie and embrace the truth, I take the time out to journal, pray, and dance it out of my system.
