We recently connected with Naeem Powell and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Naeem with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
I would say my work ethic comes from my dad, aunt, and grandmother. These three have had a huge impact on my life. Growing up, I watched them work tirelessly, no matter the circumstances. Even during tough times, they remained dedicated and never wavered. Their perseverance instilled in me a deep sense of discipline and commitment. I also believe my faith in God plays a significant role in my work ethic, guiding me to stay focused and push forward with purpose.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’m a personal trainer and coach dedicated to helping people unlock their full potential through fitness, movement, and mindset—all while keeping faith at the center of what I do. My passion is not just about building stronger bodies, but also stronger spirits. I believe that true growth happens when we push past our limits with faith, discipline, and perseverance.
What excites me most about my work is witnessing transformation—not just physically, but mentally and spiritually. Whether I’m training athletes, everyday clients, or kids, my focus is on helping them develop strength, confidence, and resilience in a way that’s both functional and purposeful.
Beyond training, I’m passionate about creating content that educates and inspires, from workout programming to deep dives into human movement. I also recently restarted Dawn Breakers Bootcamp, a high-energy group training experience designed to challenge and uplift people in a supportive, faith-driven community.
As I continue growing my brand, I’m working on expanding my reach through online content, launching a YouTube channel, and building new opportunities for people to train, grow, and live with purpose. If you’re looking for a coach who blends faith, movement, and results, I’d love to connect.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, three qualities that have been most impactful in my journey are discipline, adaptability, and faith.
1. Discipline – Success isn’t about motivation; it’s about consistency. There were plenty of days when I didn’t feel like showing up, but discipline kept me moving forward. The best way to build discipline is by setting small, daily habits and holding yourself accountable. It’s not about being perfect—it’s about staying committed even when things get tough.
2. Adaptability – Life will always throw unexpected challenges your way, whether it’s injuries, setbacks, or changes in direction. Being able to adjust, learn, and keep progressing is key. For those early in their journey, my advice is to embrace discomfort and be open to growth. Don’t get stuck in one way of thinking—stay flexible and willing to learn from every experience.
3. Faith – My faith in God has been the foundation of my journey. It’s given me strength in difficult times, clarity in my purpose, and the courage to keep pushing forward. For anyone just starting out, I encourage you to find something bigger than yourself to believe in—whether it’s faith, purpose, or a strong “why.” That foundation will keep you grounded when challenges arise.
No matter where you are in your journey, focus on these three things, and you’ll continue to grow in ways you never imagined.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
A book that played a significant role in my life is Outwitting the Devil. This book completely shifted my perspective, teaching me the power of mindset and faith. It made me realize that a positive mindset is essential in every aspect of life, especially during challenges.
Here are three key takeaways from the book:
1. Maintain a positive mindset, even through life’s troubles. Your thoughts shape your reality, so staying positive helps you navigate hardships with strength and clarity.
2. Put God first in everything you do. When you align your life with faith, you gain purpose, direction, and the resilience to overcome obstacles.
3. The devil is not scary—God has already won the battle! Fear and doubt only have power if you allow them to. When you walk in faith, you realize that victory is already yours.
This book reinforced the importance of faith, discipline, and mindset in my journey, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for deeper clarity and purpose.
