Meet Nailah Queen

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Nailah Queen. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Nailah below.

Hi Nailah, thank you so much for opening up with us about some important, but sometimes personal topics. One that really matters to us is overcoming Imposter Syndrome because we’ve seen how so many people are held back in life because of this and so we’d really appreciate hearing about how you overcame Imposter Syndrome.

Honestly? I didn’t even know it was imposter syndrome at first. It showed up as overthinking, constantly second-guessing myself, and downplaying my own wins. I’d do all the work—build the brand, plan the event, support the community—and still feel like maybe I wasn’t “qualified” enough to be the face of it.

Even after launching Regally Insane, Royalty Escapes Travel Agency, A Taste of Summer, Melanin and Mentorship, and It’s Nailah, I still had moments where I’d question myself: Who’s really going to take me seriously?

But what really shifted things for me was seeing it show up in my son. I could see him holding back—questioning himself the same way I used to. That was the moment I knew I had to lead by example. I couldn’t just talk about confidence—I had to embody it. I had to show him what it looks like to believe in yourself, even when doubt tries to creep in.

So now, I lead with intention. I recognize imposter syndrome when it pops up, but I don’t let it stop me. I remind myself: I’ve done the work. I’ve built the tables. I’ve coached women into their power. I belong here. And so does he.

Every time I step into a room as my full self, I’m not just showing up for me—I’m showing him what’s possible too.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

Absolutely! My name is Nailah Queen, and I wear a few crowns—but they all align with the same mission: empowering Black women to live, lead, and build boldly.

I’m the founder of It’s Nailah, where I serve as a business coach helping women move from overwhelmed to organized—turning big ideas into strategic, soul-centered businesses. I’m also the founder of Regally Insane, a lifestyle and event brand that creates luxurious, intentional experiences rooted in culture and community. That includes Royalty Escapes Travel Agency, where we curate travel with purpose—giving people the rest and richness they deserve.

I co-founded Melanin and Mentorship, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to supporting Black women entrepreneurs with resources, connection, and collective growth. And I’m one of the co-creators of A Taste of Summer – The Long Table Dining Experience, which has become a beloved annual event in the Baltimore area, celebrating Black chefs, Black-owned spirit brands, and Black joy in an unforgettable way.

What’s most exciting to me is that everything I do is intentional. It’s not just about building businesses or throwing beautiful events—it’s about healing, visibility, and legacy. I’m passionate about creating spaces where we’re not just seen but celebrated. Where women can take up space, lead with confidence, and thrive on their own terms.

I’m also expanding my coaching and launching new resources through It’s Nailah—tools and programs that help women get out of their heads and into action.

Everything I build is for us. It’s legacy work. And I’m just getting started.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, the three things that made the biggest difference in my journey were: bouncing back when stuff went wrong, sticking to my vision, and building real relationships.

First—bouncing back. Let’s be real: things will go left sometimes. Events flop, people don’t show up, money gets tight. I’ve had days where I questioned if I should even keep going. But I learned how to pick myself up, take the lesson, and move forward. That bounce-back muscle? It’s everything.

Second—having a clear vision. I always had a bigger picture in mind. Whether it was A Taste of Summer or Melanin and Mentorship, I didn’t just want to “do something cute”—I wanted it to mean something. I stayed focused on that even when I didn’t have all the answers yet.

And third—relationships. So much of my growth came from community. The people who encouraged me, shared resources, collaborated with me. It’s not about having a big following—it’s about having people who genuinely rock with you.

If you’re just starting out, here’s my advice:

Don’t be scared to fail. It’s part of the process. Just don’t quit.
Know your “why.” It’ll keep you grounded when things get hard.
And build real connections. Support other people, ask for help when you need it, and show up as your full self.

You don’t need to have it all figured out. Just start—and trust that each step is part of your story.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

Yes! I’m always down to connect and work with good people who are about purpose, community, and making real impact.

I’d love to collaborate with:

Chefs, artists, and creatives who want to be part of dope events like A Taste of Summer

Entrepreneurs and service providers who support women in business and want to pour into the Melanin and Mentorship community

Brands or sponsors that want to support real, meaningful work led by Black women

And coaches, speakers, or workshop hosts who want to partner through It’s Nailah to help women grow their businesses
