We were lucky to catch up with Nalleli Enriquez Jackson recently and have shared our conversation below.
Nalleli , we’ve been so fortunate to work with so many incredible folks and one common thread we have seen is that those who have built amazing lives for themselves are also often the folks who are most generous. Where do you think your generosity comes from?
My generosity comes from many areas. All of which stem from one word: upbringing. As a child I was taught to be kind and giving. Even if it meant going without. When someone is in need and I know I can help them, I do. It’s almost like a reflex of the heart. Throughout my life I have gone through experiences of my own when I needed something, times where I went without and how helpless I had felt. My generosity has only grown over the years. I thank my parents for what they have taught me. It’s like planting a seed of hope, and believing that see will grow, spreading kindness in all directions. We cannot change the entire world, but we can give hope to one family in need at a time.

Caliwink is a cosmetic line with a mission to help bring a positive impact to peoples lives and their communities. To inspire and bring hope by providing families with essential groceries. We are a non-profit family owned business. Everything we make from selling our product goes to restocking inventory and the essential grocery bags we distribute. What is special about it, is seeing the joy in the faces of every family we help. That there is our take home. Our payment. We started off helping our own family in Mexico, and from there opened our hearts to helping out more families.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
One skill that I picked up during this journey, is videography/photography. I have a sharp eye as it is, and am very determined to get the perfect shots and create the perfect videos and photos for our social media platforms. Showcasing upcoming products, and even blogs that give viewers a chance to see things through my eyes and show them what their purchases are going towards in our Cali Wink Project, giving back to the community and families in need of essential groceries. I did the research to get the best shots, how to create videos, etc.
The one area of knowledge that had the most impact was my knowledge in beauty products. Which started out with my knowledge of lashes and sparked a deeper interest in the cosmetics industry.
The one quality that I have and has definitely had the most impact …faith. My faith in God and trusting that he will guide me every step of this journey has had the greatest impact. I didn’t create this brand. HE did. It was HIS idea, I only followed his guidance.
My advice to those who are early in the journey, is keep going! Trust in yourself. Whatever it is you want to do whether its starting a business, or finding a career. Don’t give up, do the research. Surround yourself with people who have the same positive mindset and have faith in yourself if nothing else.
Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
When I feel overwhelmed, I stop and remind myself of the “why’, the purpose and the only reason of Caliwinks existence, is giving hope to a family in need. So when our food distributions arrive to those families. I remember that it is all worth it.
