We recently connected with Nancy Cruz and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Nancy, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
A mix of life experiences, a support system from close friends, and the ability to adapt to life’s challenges. It’s about learning from my setbacks, finding the strength in difficult times, and leaning on the people and resources I have around me.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I found myself navigating life as a newly single mom, with limited funds, but fierce determination. I decided to turn my passion for Caviar into a business venture. I have always been fascinated by not just the taste, but how exquisite I feel to eat caviar. The elegance of something as small as a sturgeon fish egg, and learning the difference between the types of caviars is captivating to me, The texture, taste, and burst of flavor is an adventure all on its own. I wanted to share my knowledge and passion now with the rest of the world.
One afternoon by the pool with my neighbors, I began to research how to start a Caviar business, and if anyone else was doing this unique experience of a caviar cart for events. To my surprise there was nothing like it.
At the same time, I continued to teach private Pilates sessions all the while starting this brand new company.
My first event with the Caviar Cart was in my building for free, to get some content and to gauge the level of interest it would have to the public. It was a hit! Everyone loved the unique experience, and word spread quickly. My first paid event came from a private Pilates client who referred her friend to me to serve Caviar at an open house. The Realestate community quickly embraced me, and soon my Caviar cart became a sought after Delicacy at every event you can imagine.
Instead of just serving Caviar on Russian pancakes, I started to get creative with the food pairings. I made sure that each event was more like a tasting experience than just eating. caviar the “regular” way.
As my Caviar business began to flourish, obviously, I faced challenges, but they all led me to the best outcome. I make every food pairing from scratch, and I buy all of my quality ingredients and delectable caviar from Euro-Mid Inc. right here in Houston TX.
I hope that my story becomes a testament to the power of perseverance, and the beauty of following one’s passion. When I am standing behind the cart at any event, I realize that the journey to get me here was not just about the Caviar, it was about creating a life filled with joy and purpose for myself and my son. I turned my challenges into opportunities, proving that resilience can lead to unexpected and wonderful beginnings.
I since have added a champagne service to the caviar cart which is doing extremely well! Be on the look out for a Caviar Cart at your next event!

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
Feeling overwhelmed is Inevitable in life. Never mind starting a new business as a single mother.. I try to prioritize my tasks by making list and focus on one thing at a time. I try to set small goals and celebrate small victories. I take lots of deep breaths and bubble baths. I focus on God leading the way and helping me navigate by prayer. I move my body every day whether it’s Pilates, working out with weights, or just going for a walk. That is my therapy to release tension and boost my mood.. I connect with close friends for support professionally and personally. I’ve had to establish some serious boundaries in and out of the workplace. I create downtime to be alone, to travel, and for lots of self-care to recharge.. I have picked up hobbies like the drums, rollerskating, and hula hoop dancing. I try to journal as often as possible to put my manifestations on paper to provide clarity and help me process how to get there. I keep a tidy environment, so I feel organized and I have gotten away from mindless hours on social media.
