We were lucky to catch up with Nangie Alexander recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Nangie, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
I found my purpose through my faith, It is really important to me and without it, I believe that my purpose is not worth it. My faith has guided me through many trials and tribulations. It has given me the strength to continue to show up and pour into my craft. It allows me to be free but also show others who view my content how having faith can change their lives too.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am dedicated mom and passionate Lifestyle Creator who finds joy in exploring the realms of beauty, faith, self-love, and the intricate world of style. I have a genuine love for beauty that radiates through my content across Instagram, Youtube, and TikTok as I open up about about my personal journey and emphasize the importance of prioritizing oneself as a woman who deserves to simply be while embracing multiple gifts and identities. As a devoted mom, I understand the challenges and triumphs that come with balancing motherhood and personal aspirations. Through my platform, I encourage others to embrace their own style journeys, celebrating the beauty that lies in the diversity of self-love.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The three most important qualities were discipline, knowing my ‘why’ and consistency. I know that these qualities are redundant and heard in almost every type of industry, unfortunately, the cliche is true. Combining those qualities is the key to success. It shows how much you care and value your work and audience which is not often seen. Many people see just the dollars signs but to have a long lasting business, you cannot lose yourself or your consumers. To best develop these qualities is to just start. Figure out what your schedule is like and dedicate at least 30 minutes a day researching, posting on social media, reading/responding to emails or whatever is the highest on your to-do list. Second thing is writing everything down. It allows your brain to free up storage for other things, also you are able to organize your thoughts a bit better when you can see them!

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
The most impactful thing my parents did for me was teach me the value of hard work. My parents grew up in Haiti and when we moved to the US then Canada, we were immigrants and that experience was extremely challenging. Living in a country where you dont know the language well and their customs (tied with racism and micro aggressions) was a huge culture shock. My parents triumphed through every obstacle they faced. As the youngest of three, I learned to speak my mind, stand up for what I believe even if it went against the grain all because of my parents and how they raised my siblings and I.
