Meet Naomi Richards

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Naomi Richards. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Naomi below.

Naomi, we’ve been so fortunate to work with so many incredible folks and one common thread we have seen is that those who have built amazing lives for themselves are also often the folks who are most generous. Where do you think your generosity comes from?

My generosity comes from my grandmother (Gwendolyn Wilson) and my Dad (David Richards). I’ve always grew up seeing them give there last and making someone smile.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I am an Author. What is exciting about being an Author is being able to write stories about my journey and where God has brought me from. I am also a Gospel Singer and Song writer. I had my first Book launch November of this year and will soon be hosting a Concert with another Author ( Toyia Watkins).

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

The area of knowledge that were impactful on my journey is being able to keep the faith, having hope and always putting God first. The advice that I have for folks is never give up no matter if it doesn’t look or feel right. If you have a passion for something go for it and remember that God is always with you, he’ll never leave you nor forsake you. Folks can improve on these by putting in the work and remembering that Faith without Works is dead. You can have the faith but where is the work, you have to put in the work with also having faith.

Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?

The Grace God Gives to Walk Again- this book that I wrote not only taught me to fight but it pushed me to share my journey and where God has brought me from. The most valuable or impactful nuggets of wisdom is knowing that you don’t have to walk through a journey physically but mentally and emotionally. I learned that when you feel like it’s the end. God always has the final say. I found that when you go through a tough situation whether it be an abusive relationship, bullying, sexual assault and etc…. That doesn’t define what God has in store for you. Sometimes the enemy wants to steal your joy but no matter what God gots you and your story doesn’t end there. Because God gives you grace and his Grace is abundant.
