We were lucky to catch up with Narelle Thomas recently and have shared our conversation below.
Narelle, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
I think that aside from being born strong willed (I was born three months early), I’ve always been somewhat unique and have always had my own way about me.
Throughout life I’ve had to trust myself to deliver that which I needed. I’ve never been cliquey or liked things like that and I’ve never had people like that to fall back on. People have told me “no” because they didn’t see my vision or they might get scared that what I’m doing is too different, or won’t produce what they need because I’m quiet in my certainty.
I’ve always had to show and prove and develop things to my own standards in challenging situations. I’ve had to learn that that’s okay.
As you go through challenges you learn more about what you’re capable of. These things build trust and confidence in oneself. It created a knowing in me that even if it’s hard, no matter who’s in the room, I can use some of the tools I have to apply myself and do great things. Everyone starts somewhere, and no matter what, I know that if all else fails, I didn’t let myself down, because I gave it my most strategic and genuine best effort.
Even if I’m a little scared or worn out, I have built my self esteem knowing I’m here with purpose and I am the one that’s been trusted with my unique gifts. I speak positively over myself even when surrounded by doubt, naysayers, more “qualified” people than me.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I have a multimedia arts business called Narelle Ankh Khepera Creations.
I draw, paint, write, curate arts events, perform original performance poetry, and act.
I create natural self care and healing products like organic herbal teas, hair growth and fragrance oils, co-host healing retreats, healing circles and lead mindfulness workshops in person and virtually under my “Together, Healing.” I am also an intuitive healer which inspires a lot of my healing products.
I am newer to runway and editorial modeling. I love to be a living animated canvas, help style pieces and make things look good.
My passion is to create avenues for people to collectively experience and enjoy being their best, heal and have a good time remembering “this is what life is about”!
Ankh is the Kemetic symbol for “life” and Khepera represents transformation and evolution.
All my work embodies that no matter what you have the opportunity to grow and transform. May my work be a part of your journey that connects one piece to another and helps you bloom brighter as you are.
My cookie business K Cookies takes the K from the mother company (short for Khepera Cookies) this is the evolution of your average cookie.
No junk, filters or artificial things. All the great taste without compromising quality. (And they’re vegan, we specialize in making gluten free cookies as well)
Treat yourself to the best. Evolve Your Cookie!
I hope to continue building my work to support my efforts to finish school and become a naturopathic doctor so I can more fully serve the community in healing and live my dreams also as a multimedia performer. I want to explore my musical work more and integrate it into my performances along with other things.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
1. Determination
2. Trust
3. Empathy
(In no particular order).
I’d say working on developing determination is helpful because sometimes you’re going to have to work harder than you think or anticipate and will have to think on if what you’re working toward is worth the energetic investment.
Everything else aligns from there. If you hold the vision and trust your personal process, it will enable you to access even what seemed unreachable because you’re keeping the faith. It takes a lot to build trust in oneself, but it’s the most strengthening thing and allows others to trust you.
Everyone also goes through things and adapts to change and life in their own ways. Having a little understanding and empathy goes a long way, because we’re all human and more connected than it seems and sometimes appears. One thing can change or impact someone’s whole life. Be genuine and present. Start with love.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I would love to partner with people looking to develop their craft or hone in on their skills and hold themselves accountable. I also do health coaching work and would love to integrate the principles into practice or help people along a more mindful wellness journey.
I’d love to work with artists that like my work and might like to create work together or feature me on their platforms and we can cross promote.
I travel for booked performances.
I would love to be a part of holistic wellness events facilitating mindfulness workshops, making healing teas for the intention of the event or guiding meditations.
I’d love to spread my vegan cookies into shops around the u.s. that are looking to serve even more of their clientele and provide a delicious and healthier option.
I’d love to model custom items to promote a unique brand
I’d love for people to check out my services and hire me for what they resonate deepest with from my offerings.
Let’s thrive together.
I’m open to other ideas as well.
