We recently connected with Nasasha Tayor and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Nasasha , really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
I believe God revealed to me early on that our destiny is often woven into our DNA. What I mean by that is—our purpose is usually hidden in plain sight, embedded in the things we naturally love to do. For as long as I can remember, I’ve always loved caring for others. I naturally put others before myself, and that gift of empathy led me to become a nurse at a young age. It was deeply fulfilling to meet people’s needs in their most vulnerable moments.
But as time went on, I sensed God calling me into a deeper season. After long shifts, I’d come home, light a candle, take a bath, and spend time in prayer. In those quiet, surrendered moments, I found peace—and I realized others needed that too. Not just a way to relax, but a way to reconnect with God in the midst of everyday life.
That’s how Journey Candle Co. was born. It became more than just fragrance—it became a ministry. Our mission is to take your senses on a journey, yes, but more importantly, to walk with you on your journey with the Lord. Each product is an invitation to slow down, reflect, and remember God’s goodness.
I also launched the Edify podcast with the same heart: to build up the Body of Christ one voice at a time. Whether it’s sharing testimonies, hearing from Christian entrepreneurs, or discussing real-life faith journeys, it’s a space where we learn from one another and grow together.
Ultimately, I found my purpose by helping others find theirs—by creating moments of stillness, inspiration, and Christ-centered community. My calling is to empower, encourage, and edify, especially for Christian women navigating faith, business, and purpose.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’m the founder of Journey Candle Co., a faith-based luxury fragrance brand created to help believers pause, reflect, and remember the goodness of God. What started as quiet moments with the Lord after long nursing shifts became a God-given vision—to merge fragrance, worship, and purpose into something tangible. Every candle, room spray, and diffuser is designed to create space for stillness, inspiration, and Christ-centered community.
What excites me most is that this brand is about more than just products—it’s about people. It’s about creating moments that point us back to the Lord, and building a community where we can edify and uplift one another in love and truth.
Alongside my candle business, I host the Edify podcast, where we’re building up the Body of Christ one voice at a time. We feature real testimonies, biblical truth, and powerful conversations with Christian entrepreneurs and faith-driven leaders who are walking boldly in their God-given callings. It’s a space to be inspired, challenged, and reminded that faith and business can work hand in hand for God’s glory.
Right now, I’m focused on expanding community-based events through local pop-up shops, where I can meet my customers, pray with them, and encourage them in person. I’m also stepping deeper into speaking—empowering Christians, especially women, to pursue their purpose with confidence and boldness.
Whether it’s through fragrance, words, or shared experiences, everything I do is to glorify God and help others live a life of intention, remembrance, and faith.
You can tune into the Edify podcast on YouTube and wherever you stream your favorite shows.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, I’d say the three qualities that have been the most impactful in my journey are empathy, perseverance, and optimism.
Empathy has always come naturally to me. It’s what led me into nursing and continues to show up in everything I do. I truly want to see people win, especially when it comes to walking in the purpose God has placed in their hearts. That compassion fuels both my business and the way I show up for others.
Perseverance is another one. The vision God gave me to uplift and empower believers, especially Christian entrepreneurs, keeps me going even on the hard days. Long nights, editing content, creating products, and praying for others can be a lot. But I’ve learned not to give up based on what I see with my eyes. I keep pushing forward because of what I know and believe in my heart.
And then there’s optimism. I’ve seen God move too many times not to believe that He’s still working, even when things feel uncertain. I hold on to hope, not just for myself, but for others. I really believe that everyone’s story has power, and that what we’ve walked through can be the key to someone else’s breakthrough.
If you’re just starting out, my advice would be to stay close to God, don’t despise small beginnings, and be thankful for every little accomplishment. Each step matters. Cultivate empathy by truly wanting to see others win. Strengthen your perseverance by standing on God’s promises, and protect your optimism by surrounding yourself with people who speak life into you and your dreams.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
The book that has played the most important role in my development is hands down the Bible. After years of being a Christian, I truly discovered my purpose through the pages that revealed Jesus Christ. As I spent more time in the Word, I began to clearly see who I was, what I was called to do, and how I could serve others.
Two scriptures in particular inspired both Journey Candle Co. and the Edify podcast. The first is 1 Thessalonians 5:11: “Therefore encourage one another and edify one another.” That became the heartbeat of everything I do—building up the Body of Christ one voice, one product, one conversation at a time.
The second is Psalm 37:4: “Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” When we delight in God, His desires become our desires—and His desires are never wrong for us. He is faithful to give us those desires, which always include our purpose. And our true purpose will always be tied to edifying someone else, not just ourselves.
Because of that, I’m always open to connecting with others who share the same heart. If you’re a Christian entrepreneur, speaker, creative, or someone passionate about using your gifts for God’s glory, I’d love to collaborate.
