Meet Nasia Eastt

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Nasia Eastt a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Nasia , thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with us today. We’re excited to dive into your story and your work, but first let’s start with a broader topic that might be stopping many of our readers from pursuing their dreams – haters, nay-sayers, etc. How have you managed to persist despite haters and nay-sayers that inevitably follow folks who are doing something unique, special or off the beaten path?
I think what keeps me going in the midst of having to deal with haters, nay-sayers or just non-believers is the fact I know that what I’m doing & what I’m trying to achieve will happen no matter what they might say or try to do. I use that as motivation to keep going & I just block out the noise, although it’s hard at times I understand I have dreams and goals that I need to achieve and I can’t let anything get in the way I just hope one day I can inspire those same “haters” to follow & chase their own goals & dreams.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
So I am a Makeup Artist / Beauty Influencer from Miami, Fl and the most exciting thing about what I do would have to be helping women and other individuals apart of my audience /clientele learn how to apply makeup & just help build their confidence overall. It’s a blessing to be able to create bonds with them from all over the world and my hometown as well. I enjoy being able to create different looks & styles any client may have. I’ve been a makeup artist for 8 years now & I’ve been beauty influencing for about 3 years starting out on tiktok where I post makeup tutorials, products reviews, hair tutorials basically anything beauty related, gaining over 6,000 followers in my first year and a half while currently sitting at 13,000 followers(NASIANATORS). I also love the fact that I’m able to help other business owners by reviewing or sampling their products because of the engaging audience I’ve gained. I’m a full time makeup artist and I currently work at The Loft where I provide makeup services and other beauty needs.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The most impactful skills that stood out on helping me in my journey would have to be consistency, patience, dedication and being unapologetically YOU. I feel like knowing that really helped me just stay grounded during the process while I achieve everything I set out for myself. Some advice I’d like to give would be just try to have tunnel vision in your journey, block out all the noise and distractions & things that maybe preventing you from elevating and focus until you hit your goal.

Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?
My ideal client would be someone who is willing to let the artist do their job. I feel like if you are booking someone for a service it could be makeup, hair or nails then that means you are trusting them to do what they do best. I also love when clients bring reference pictures just so I can have an idea of the look they are going for. I appreciate it when clients follow all instructions while being serviced & while booking an appointment because I try to make instructions simple & easy for booking with me. I don’t really like when clients are constantly on their phone just because it prevents me from properly doing their makeup, so if my ideal client would lock their phone away for the hour their being serviced, I’ll take them! Lol.
