We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Natalia Torres. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Natalia below.
Hi Natalia, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
My resilience comes from my faith. Spending time with God daily keeps me grounded and helps me maintain peace, even when things aren’t going my way. It would have been easy to get stuck in discouragement but I’ve learned that when I start from a place of spiritual strength, I’m able to approach challenges with a clearer mind and a calmer heart. I also find stability in and the importance of caring for my body and pouring myself into passion projects like my photography. That combination of faith, discipline, and creative outlets have built habits which keep me balanced and give me the strength to keep moving forward to help me overcome challenges.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’m the creative behind Honeymae Photography, where I focus on creating timeless, emotive imagery that celebrates the beauty of real connection. What excites me most about my work is capturing people in their most authentic moments, the little in-between details that often mean the most but can easily be forgotten. Photography has always been more than just pictures for me; it’s about preserving memories in a way that feels true to the people I’m photographing. It’s a safe space where I can express love through my art. I believe that real, honest, and even imperfect stories have the power to heal, connect, and restore. Through photography, writing, and the way I live, I want to help people see the beauty in their own journey and know that their life holds value. One project I feel called to no matter how long it takes is building a body of work that honors God, preserves legacy, and reflects the quiet strength in everyday moments. For me, it’s not just about growing a brand, but creating something lasting that serves others long after I’m gone.
What makes my photos special is the authenticity of the people in them. It’s about creating a space where people can truly be themselves, and revealing that through my photos. I love getting to meet new people and learning about their stories, we all come from different walks of life and be able to connect with someone in this meaningful way is such a blessing.
God is always present, even in the ordinary, messy, or quiet moments. I don’t have to say it out loud, but it’s the foundation of how I move through life, work, and relationships. I’ve also learned that growth doesn’t always mean moving forward quickly. Sometimes it looks like waiting, sitting in discomfort, or relearning lessons I thought I already understood, and I’ve come to see that as part of the process. I hold to the belief that every person’s story matters, no matter how ordinary it may seem. That truth shapes the way I create, the way I love, and the way I show up in the world.
Right now, I’m excited to continue growing my business and offering packages that make professional photography more accessible without losing the personal touch. I’m also working on refining my client experience from start to finish, so that every person I work with not only receives beautiful images, but also feels supported and cared for through the process. Looking ahead, I’m exploring new opportunities to expand my brand, whether it’s collaborations, creative projects, or even learning new mediums such as film and videography.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back, three qualities that have been the most impactful in my journey are faith, perseverance, and a willingness to keep learning.
My faith and God have been the anchor through every season, reminding me to trust God’s timing and stay grounded even when things feel uncertain. Perseverance has carried me through the moments when I could have given up, teaching me that consistency matters more than perfection. Art is subjective; everyone creates art differently, and that’s okay! You are meant to stand out and be different. Staying teachable has opened the door to growth; whether it’s learning new techniques, improving how I run my business, or simply listening to others, I’ve found that curiosity keeps me moving forward. Community has also been a blessing to my art because you can get inspired by a simple conversation, and it just might be the push you need.
For those early in their journey, I’d encourage you to start by grounding yourself in something bigger than the work itself, whether that’s faith, values, or a vision that inspires you. Then, give yourself permission to keep showing up, even on the hard days, because progress is built one day at a time. Be authentic to yourself, and you will grow in more ways than one. And finally, never stop learning. Stay open, ask questions, try new things, and don’t be afraid of mistakes; they’re often your greatest teachers.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Yes, I’m definitely looking to collaborate. I would love to partner with brands and other photographers, videographers, or writers who share a heart for storytelling and authenticity. I believe there’s so much value in creative collaboration—whether that’s styled shoots, creative campaigns, joint projects, or building community through shared work. I also hope to continue working with magazines like this one, because I love the opportunity to connect with a wider audience and celebrate different voices and stories.
I’m also open to exploring new kinds of collaborations, whether that’s with local businesses, creative entrepreneurs, or other artists who want to bring meaningful projects to life. If anyone reading this feels aligned with my work and values, I’d love to connect.
