Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Natalie Mangrum. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Natalie, thank you so much for joining us today. Let’s jump right into something we’re really interested in hearing about from you – being the only one in the room. So many of us find ourselves as the only woman in the room, the only immigrant or the only artist in the room, etc. Can you talk to us about how you have learned to be effective and successful in situations where you are the only one in the room like you?
I’ve learned to leverage my uniqueness as a strength. Being the only one in the room who looks like me means I bring a different perspective and ask questions that others might not consider. This distinct viewpoint often leads to a mutual respect and broader discussions. Furthermore, I’ve discovered that not everyone is anti-diversity. Many people are genuinely open to learning more about me and are willing to offer their support. By focusing on these allies and fostering genuine connections, I’ve been able to navigate and succeed in environments where I’m in the minority.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I am the CEO of a multi-million dollar enterprise, Your Teacher Tutors as well as Cinergy Media Group, where I leverage my extensive experience in education and media to drive innovation and make a substantial impact. At Your Teacher Tutors, we provide certified teachers who tailor educational services to a broad clientele, ranging from individual families to large institutions across the U.S. Additionally, Cinergy Media Group specializes in enhancing brand awareness and increasing revenue for businesses through expert photo and video production services.
Because I’ve experienced success in my endeavors, I’ve ventured into business coaching with a special emphasis on wealth. building. What excites me and sets my coaching apart is that I focus on mindset and belief as the prerequisites to any type of success. I firmly believe that the right mindset and strong self-belief are essential for overcoming challenges and achieving excellence. My coaching emphasizes these elements, empowering clients to unlock their full potential and reach new heights in their professional and personal lives because they recognize they deserve it and are capable of it.
I am deeply committed to fostering entrepreneurial success. This commitment is embodied in my upcoming event on August 27th, titled ‘How to Become a Millionaire.’ This exclusive evening will offer attendees the chance to gain valuable insights on experiencing millionaire status. It’s an incredible opportunity for all people, not just entrepreneurs, to connect with like-minded individuals, hear from industry leaders, and learn mindset strategies to escalate their business and financial growth. This event not only reflects my dedication to mentorship but also my belief in creating platforms where anyone can thrive and succeed. It’s about building a community where innovation, leadership, and financial wisdom converge to create something truly special.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Reflecting on my journey, the three most impactful qualities that have shaped my success are resilience, strategic thinking, and a mindset-oriented approach. Resilience has been crucial, especially in the face of challenges and setbacks. The life path is rarely smooth, and resilience has enabled me to persevere and adapt when things didn’t go as planned. For those early in their business or entrepreneurial journey, my advice is to view setbacks as opportunities for growth. Engage with challenges actively, learn from them, and use these lessons to forge a stronger path forward.
Strategic thinking has allowed me to not only envision the future of my ventures but to plot a practical course to reach those goals. It involves understanding market trends, anticipating changes, and making informed decisions. To develop this skill, I recommend immersing yourself in your industry’s dynamics, investing in a solid coach (when you pay, you pay attention) and perhaps most importantly, always planning several moves ahead.
Lastly, a mindset-oriented approach has been my cornerstone. Believing in the feasibility of your goals and visualizing your success can profoundly influence your journey. It’s about nurturing a positive, growth-focused mindset that embraces possibilities rather than limitations. To anyone starting out, cultivate this by surrounding yourself with positive influences, seeking mentors who inspire you, and regularly practicing affirmations that reinforce your path to success.
These qualities have not only propelled my professional life but have also enriched my personal development, making the journey rewarding in more ways than one.
Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
When I start feeling overwhelmed, I grab my journal—it’s my go-to for getting my thoughts in order. I jot down everything that’s on my mind to figure out what’s really causing the stress. Then, I sort through it all, deciding what needs my immediate attention and what can wait. This really helps me prioritize the important things without getting tied down by everything else. If you ever feel overwhelmed, try this out. Writing things down can clear your head and make everything feel more manageable. Take the time to write out what’s going well, too! Gratitude is an excellent way of shifting your perspective!
