Meet Natalie Palik

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Natalie Palik. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Natalie, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?

I have truly adopted the saying “fake it til you make it”, and I think that in most aspects of life, we are all trying to show up and present ourself as the person we are striving to become. I believe that self-esteem and confidence can truly get you far in life, and open a lot of doors. I don’t think that you are born with high confidence or crazy good self-esteem, but it is something that you are taught, or you learn through watching the ones that raised you. I am very thankful and blessed to have two strong and resilient parents, as well as a very strong-willed sibling. When I am having doubts of my abilities or just who I am as a person, I really rely on the ones that raised me and that I look up to for reassurance. When you have someone in your life that you truly look up to, their opinion can lift you up, and you can borrow their confidence in you when you are lacking it. Over time, you learn to rely on yourself when you need that extra boost of confidence, but at the end of the day – not one single person is nearly as confident as they seem. Grace and empathy for yourself can also help immensely in situations when you feel the weight of the world is on your shoulders, or that your performance in that exact moment is going to make or break you. Sometimes it requires taking the pressure off of yourself, and that allows you to step into a very relaxed, and confident version of yourself.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I am a very creative person at my core, and I love having multiple outlets to express my creativity. I do this through my social media platforms, my podcast, and now my small business. I have always known at an early age that I wanted to make a difference and reach people, but didn’t quite know how I could achieve that. I am extremely proud of my accomplishments thus far, and it makes me very happy to know that people look forward to the work that I put out there.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Three qualities that I feel have been the most impactful of my journey are –
1. Setting boundaries, especially in work situations. People will take as much as you are willing to give, without caring how it may impact you.

2. Learning that not everyone is “me” – meaning I can’t expect everyone to operate how I do. Communication is extremely important, and learning to communicate effectively will save you so much time and energy.

3. Recognizing healthy and unhealthy stress. I am someone that thrives off of “stressful” situations, I can procrastinate things but then my finest work comes when I am on a crunch.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?

The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F*ck – Mark Manson.

Learning that no matter what, at the end of the day, if you give less “fucks” – you will be better off for it. Caring too much about literally everything, takes a huge toll on you, and takes up space that should be reserved for the finer things in life.
