Meet Natalie Robbins

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Natalie Robbins. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Natalie, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

My resilience comes from the combination of lessons learned through my personal experiences and the values that guide me every day. On a personal level, my journey as a wife, mom, and entrepreneur has taught me that resilience isn’t about being unshakeable — it’s about knowing when to ask for help, when to lean into self-care, and how to keep moving forward with purpose.

The shift from the corporate world to entrepreneurship was a major leap, and I leaned heavily on my value of empowerment. I’ve always found strength in the idea that we can grow through challenges, but we also need to make room for grace in the process. I used to try to do everything on my own, but I’ve learned that resilience is rooted in knowing your limits and having the courage to ask for support when needed.

The resourcefulness I’ve built as a leader in different industries also plays a huge role. I’ve had to adapt quickly in every career transition, and the creative problem-solving I’ve honed is something I’m able to pass on to others, especially those navigating their own transitions. Finally, community has been a huge pillar for me. It’s the relationships I’ve built with mentors, peers, and community groups — and knowing I’m not alone — that keeps me grounded and gives me the strength to keep going, even when it gets tough.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I’m the founder of Pivot in Power, where I partner with parents and caregivers navigating their careers. I’m passionate about supporting individuals who are juggling caregiving responsibilities while pursuing meaningful careers. My work centers on creating a space where clients can make empowered decisions based on their values, helping them identify strategies to align their career aspirations with their life priorities in harmony.

What I find most exciting about what I do is the opportunity to witness my clients realize their potential in a way that feels authentic to them. Whether it’s returning to the workforce after caregiving, adjusting their career path to fit new life circumstances, or pursuing a new career altogether, I love helping people tap into their inner resilience and creativity to create the future they want.

Pivot in Power stands out because I use a holistic, values-driven coaching approach. I focus on building not only professional skills but also the mindset and confidence needed to make lasting change. This approach is rooted in my background in people operations, where I led large teams and developed talent management strategies that resulted in career satisfaction increases. I’ve also coached many individuals through personal career transitions, and I draw from these experiences to create a supportive and practical coaching environment.

Currently, I offer 1:1 coaching services, along with career guides like the Career Transition Planning Guide, to help individuals navigate their careers with clarity and confidence. Later this year, I’m excited to be launching a group coaching program to offer additional support and community for those going through similar career and life changes.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Resilience and Adaptability: My ability to remain flexible and adjust when faced with uncertainty has been a cornerstone of my journey. Whether shifting from retail to recruiting, navigating being laid off, or navigating the transition to entrepreneurship, resilience helped me move forward even when things didn’t go as planned. The key has been embracing change as an opportunity rather than a setback.

Empathy and Listening: Being able to truly listen to people, whether they were team members, clients, or mentors, allowed me to build stronger relationships and better understand their needs.

Leadership and People Management: Leading teams in various capacities within the tech industry helped me develop a deep understanding of people operations, talent management, and the importance of creating an empowering environment.

Food for thought for anyone on early on in their career journey –
Take time to reflect: Early in your journey, it can be easy to rush forward, but taking the time to reflect on your experiences helps you uncover valuable lessons. Regular reflection allows you to identify what’s working, what’s not, and how to make adjustments. Whether it’s journaling, talking with a mentor, or simply pausing for a moment of self-reflection, make it a habit to assess where you are and where you want to go.

Seek out diverse perspectives: Surround yourself with people who challenge your thinking and offer different viewpoints. This can help you see things from angles you might not have considered and push you to grow. Whether it’s through mentorship, peer connections, or even listening to podcasts or reading books outside your field, make a habit of gathering diverse perspectives.

Focus on progress, not perfection: Don’t wait until you have everything figured out before taking action. Small steps forward are still progress, and making mistakes along the way is part of the process. Trust that growth happens incrementally, and each step you take gets you closer to your goals—even when things don’t look perfect at first.

What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?

In the past 12 months, my biggest area of growth has been leaning into doing so many things for the first time. Building my business has required me to step outside my comfort zone in so many ways—designing a website, navigating the complexities of marketing, and learning all the behind-the-scenes aspects of running a business. It’s been thrilling to see things come to life, but also incredibly vulnerable. I’ve had to seek out resources, ask for help when I needed it, and trust that I’m making the right decisions along the way. It’s definitely been a journey of growth and self-discovery, and while it’s often uncomfortable, it’s been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career so far.
