Meet Natasha Londoño

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Natasha Londoño. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Natasha, so happy to have you on the platform with us today and excited to chat about your lessons and insights. Our ability to make good decisions can massively impact our lives, careers and relationships and so it would be very helpful to hear about how you built your decision-making skills.
Decision-making is part of leadership, some people find making a decision hard because of the accountability that comes with it. However, part of leadership is accountability. I had previous leaders that I was able to see take this approach and I was able to learn from them the importance of decision-making. With practice you realize making a bad decision is better than not making one at all. The more you fail, the closer you are to your win. Decision-making should ideally come from insights and metrics, however sometimes that’s not always the case, especially when they’re personal decisions, sometimes you just have to tune in with your gut.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I was born and raised in Miami, with strong Colombian blood. I’ve also lived in Florence, New York, and the Dominican Republic. My heart thrives for exploration both around the world and within my Self. I’m a creative soul and recently launched my website https://www.thecreativesol.co to showcase my creative projects along with my brand Rumbita which falls under this umbrella.

Rumbita came about in 2020, during a pandemic. A time when human connection was forbidden, mental health was on the rise, and celebrations were canceled. Because of so much loss, both personally and during this year, I wanted to create a brand that people fell in love with for its upbeat spirit, while serving as a reminder that celebration doesn’t need to look a certain way and that the most important celebration is Self-Celebration.

Rumbita celebrates the little moments leading up to the big ones, the milestones that society doesn’t deem as “registration worthy” and reminds you that living with a celebration mindset will only give you more reason to celebrate.

Rumbita is a lifestyle brand. We sell leisurewear, home candles, and one-of-a-kind handmade celebration crowns that elevate any moment into a Rumbita Moment. These crowns are made in Colombia my home country and I work closely with the artisans in both design and concept. As a female-led business, I’m intentional about supporting other women’s businesses and makers. All of our products are sourced from or produced by women.

Rumbita also hosts unique events throughout the year to unite our community through celebration. We aim to expand these celebrations beyond our home city in the future!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
1. Progress over perfection – in the beginning stages the goal is GO.

2. Having a full-time job while launching a small business is a blessing and a curse – if you’re able to juggle both, I say go for it because it alleviates A LOT of the pressure of a small or first-time business owner, however, this pressure is also what makes you GO. Decide the right time when it’s time to fully go in for you.

3. Know the difference between high-value and low value tasks, and which of those tasks only you can do – delegate the rest.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

Yes, I would love to collaborate with other unconventional female-led brands, in fashion, home decor, or novelty spaces. Brands that encourage celebration through their uniqueness would be a great fit with Rumbita. They can find me via DM @rumbita.co or email info@rumbita.co
