Meet Natasha Turner

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Natasha Turner. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Natasha, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

Finding purpose in my line of work as a medical tattoo artist and nurse often comes from witnessing transformations, both physical and emotional. As a nurse, I have seen many people at their most vulnerable, which gives me a deeper understanding of their struggles and needs. As a medical tattoo artist, I am able to help restore not only their appearance, but also confidence and self worth. With both professions, I am at the perfect intersection of compassion, artistry, and healing, which makes my work meaningful to both my clients and patients alike, as well as myself.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

Tattoo camouflage is more than just ink–it’s a fusion of artistry and healing. Unlike traditional tattoos, medical tattoo camouflage is designed to blend scars, stretch marks, and skin irregularities seamlessly with each client’s skin tone. As a registered nurse and medical tattoo artist, I understand that healing is both physical and emotional. I combine my healthcare background with artistic skill to deliver results that are not only beautiful, but also safe and meaningful. Every scar has a story to tell and with my skills, I am honored to help my clients feel whole again, and help rewrite their stories with confidence.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

In my experience, 3 key qualities would be artistic precision and creative vision, in-depth knowledge of skin anatomy and healing and empathy and client-centered communication. Medical tattooing isn’t just about making things look beautiful. Mastery in shading and color theory are essential for blending pigments into natural skin tones, that are tailored for each client. Knowledge of skin anatomy and healing ensures that the camouflage is natural with the client’s skin, providing confidence and long term results. Empathy, along with clear and compassionate communication and care, establishes trust and allows for each client to be heard, understood, and supported on their journey, enhancing their overall experience.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?

I unplug from whatever is causing me to feel overwhelmed. I often find an activity or hobby that takes my kind off the issue and allows for my creative side to dominate, often in the form of painting or simply unwinding with music. Most times I come back recharged and ready to take on any challenge!
