Meet Natassia Williamson

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Natassia Williamson. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Natassia below.

Hi Natassia, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
I am still building my confidence and self-esteem. It is the day to day experiences that helped develop it. It is how I talk to myself daily. It started when I stopped saying statements such as: “I will wear that outfit when.” “I can’t wear that until I am x size.” “I don’t like x, y, or z.” I started looking in the mirror and smiling at myself. I started loving myself the way I was/am. I started to tell myself you are beautiful, great, worthy and anything else uplifting at that time. I used to think that getting things right and being perfect was a confidence builder. Perfectionism led me to procrastinate. Therefore I froze and didn’t do the things that I wanted. That was slowly diminishing my confidence. I started to compare myself to people doing what I wanted to do and thought I couldn’t do it. I stopped doing that. I realized it is the mistakes and lessons that helped build my confidence and self-esteem. It was learning and pivoting. It was continuing to go after my goals after hardship.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
My name is Natassia or Coach T. I am a Family Nurse Practitioner and Certified Health Coach. I specialize in Perinatal Mental Health, I am owner of Aurora Health and Wellness LLC, Primary Care and More…Author of ABC D is Ability: Getting to know kids with disabilities. I created Bottles, Boobs and Feeding Tubes a mom blog discussing my parenting journey, pregnancy wellness, postpartum support and parenting resources. I love what I do because I am able to support mothers/birthing people in their pregnancy, postpartum and parenting journey. I had my first postpartum experience working with couplets as an Army Nurse in Alaska. I loved being able to assess the mom and babies. Helping mothers during their first couple days of motherhood was a joyous experience. I didn’t realize that was the pivotal point in my career that ultimately led me to my current journey.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The three most important qualities I would say are adaptability, service, and passion. I knew when I started my career as an Army Nurse I would want a variety of experiences. I wasn’t sure when or how I would get those experiences but I remained open to trying new things. I was given the opportunity to help work on the first Army inpatient drug and alcohol unit at my first duty station Fort Gordon, GA. In Alaska I was able to care for postpartum couplets when our OB unit needed support. When I transitioned out of the Army and moved to Arizona I worked in the emergency room. As a Nurse Practitioner I worked in retail health, primary care, and Native Health. I feel being adaptable helps in the medical field because you will be presented with a variety of experiences that require your ability to learn and adapt. It’s a constantly evolving field. In this profession you provide a service to our community. For me this maybe the most important quality. I love being of service to people and helping people throughout their life journey. I have been of service to people who were being born and those who were dying. I help people during some of their most difficult or joyous times. They say if you are doing what you are passionate about it isn’t work. It is work but it makes it easier to show up when you are passionate about what it is that you are doing. Your passion will fuel you on days when you do not want to get up and do the work.

How would you describe your ideal client?
My ideal client is someone who is looking to make life long changes and needs help with making these changes permanent. I struggled with with being overweight, chronic pain, and fatigue. It wasn’t until I changed my mindset did I start being able to overcome the yoyo dieting roller coaster. It’s also a mom/birthing person who maybe struggling during their pregnancy or postpartum period and need additional support. If you are someone who is dealing with perinatal mood anxiety or depression (PMAD) symptoms I am here to help. I also provide parenting resources to families who have concerns regarding the development of their babies/children. As a mother who has experienced feeding difficulties and developmental delays, “parenting through the unexpected” has been my journey. If you are currently facing unexpected challenges during your personal health and/or parenting journey finding someone to help you navigate is key.
