Meet Nathalie Woog

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Nathalie Woog. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Nathalie, so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?
I had to face illness and come very close to death around the age of 20, having been struck down by a form of leukemia. The doctors had all condemned me, and so I had to fight to survive with a strength of positivism and optimism that undoubtedly saved me after a year’s battle in hospital. This optimistic strength has been a driving force for me in building my career and my personal life. I told myself that nothing would spoil my life, and that nothing would stop me in my tracks. So I went from my hectic Parisian life to an explosive life on the other side of the continent in the USA, more precisely in Miami, where I created a travel agency : Cruise En vogue and an events agency: Paradise-Events, simultaneously… to bring and spread happiness to each and every one of my clients !

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
My name is Nathalie Woog, and I currently live in Miami, Florida. Parisian by birth, I grew up in a family of artists, with the desire to create while sharing what I liked, more precisely : a passion for travel and festivities, which I practiced all my youth! So I worked for a major group in Paris as Communications Manager for 15 years, organizing hundreds of events, seminars and conventions in Europe, from 10 to 5000 participants. I had the privilege of organizing large-scale events with celebrities such as great French comedians known as Gad Elmaleh and Dany Boon, for example…in the most famous places as the Grand Palais, the Eiffel Tower, Opéra Garnier of Paris, Zénith de Paris, au Chateau de versaille…and many other yet.
In 2015, attracted by novelty and the challenge of a new life, I took the plunge into the unknown by moving to Miami in the USA. Full of drive and energy, in the intense excitement of this city I was discovering, I decided to create my own Cruise En vogue Travel Agency, and my own Event Agency: Paradise-Events, simultaneously! I told myself that I would put all my French know-how in the USA !

About my Travel Agency Cruise En Vogue : My passion is to organize stays, tours or events that are off the beaten track, that are as authentic as possible, reflecting genuine typical atmospheres, and that perfectly suit each of my customers. Always very creative, always surprising and creating enthusiasm… Being on the ground in the USA, it’s easy for me to control and manage all the players on my tours, for example, knowing that I always place my clients in places or accommodations that I’ve already tried out for myself ! Whether it’s hotel stays, all-inclusive stays or tours of all the United States, the Caribbean and Canada, as well as Costa Rica or even cruises departing from all over the world…
I went so far as to recently complete a full tour of the USA, or 6000 miles, in order to offer truly tested tours, and in order to provide my best sound advice for my clients !
About my Events Agency Paradise-Events : In terms of events organization, I like to deploy the French Touch through the places that I choose meticulously, as well as each component, to result in a unique and personal composition…
I’ve had the opportunity to organize magnificent conventions and group trips to world-renowned fairs such as Art Basel Miami and Design Miami, which are currently the world’s biggest international Contemporary Art and Design fairs. I also contributed to the success of Miami’s first-ever international Bitcoin fair, organizing key events and meetings between key players in the industry.
My media presence: I’ve had the honor of being interviewed by a number of leading French and American media in the tourism, events, economy and business sectors, both in the press and on television, during my latest appearance on the France 2 TV, one of the most watched TV channels in France at prime time!
Also, my 2 nominations for the Trophées de l’Optimisme in France in 2020, and as Entrepreneur of the Year in 2021, have been a great source of pride in my professional career, motivating me even more to harness my positive energy in my daily work!

In conclusion : A lot of optimism, Lots of nerve, and lots of spontaneity, combined with hard work and perseverance, have enabled me to achieve this fabulous experience of enabling cultural and economic exchanges between 2 continents such as Europe and America… and to be able to contribute to making American culture known to many tourists from all over the world, through the services offered by my travel agency and through the services offered by my events agency.
The happiness of my clients during their stay or during the events organized by myself, is really the common thread of my work… My true satisfaction and reward!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, for my part, the 3 qualities that propelled me forward were my characteristic optimism and ‘’joie de vivre’’, my nerve, and my spontaneity, which all add up to an excellent combination to succeed !

Optimism and ‘’joie de vivre’’: the sinews of war ( le nerf de la guerre )! In my eyes, without this positive energy, nothing happens! I’ve got this fire inside me that allows me to shake the whole world, to persevere even if I come up against obstacles, to always see (as the saying goes) the glass as half full rather than half empty!

The nerve: Aaaahhh, I laugh to myself as I recall many anecdotes or peripeties in which sass enabled me to get everything I wanted! For me, the nerve is like a madness: Exactly that madness you have when you’re a child and you want something, you don’t ask yourself any questions, you put your pride aside and go for it!

Spontaneity: For me it is freshness in its purest form, an essential element in our society, which allows you to be real both with those around you and with your customers. It’s a way of life that is directly connected to the reality of things, ultimately ! Emotions are shared, quite simply, there is no pretense (de faux semblants) ! And people appreciate that !

Is there a particular challenge you are currently facing?
My biggest difficulty at the moment is finding competent and reliable staff in the tourism and events sector. My solution is to communicate with as many people as possible, and to target them as effectively as possible, giving priority to the principle of cooptation, which enables me to forge closer links.
