We were lucky to catch up with Nathan Abbott recently and have shared our conversation below.
Nathan, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
I was somewhat lost as a child. I feel that most entrepreneurial people are until they find themselves. We don’t fit in the box that society wants us to be in. The teachers would say I was too active, don’t pay attention, don’t fit into the idea of what they wanted me to be. My mind was always racing and I didn’t know where I fit in. I often found that comedy and making people laugh was my therapy. During the Summer when I was 17 years old I went on a 30 day hiking trip in Wyoming through an organization called NOLS. We hiked over the continental divide at 14,00o ft. and were dropped off on one side of the Wind River range and were picked up on the other side a month later. This is where I found my true authenticity. On this trip we depended on each other for survival vs being distracted by social pressures. Nature has played an important role in my life where everything slows down, especially on the coast and the mountains. I have carried on trips like this throughout my life from backcountry snowboarding by helicopter, backpacking through Europe for 3 months solo, scuba diving over a 10,000 ft wall to the abbess and many other extreme trips. We have one life to live so live it. Share your true authenticity to the world to set you free.

Nathan Abbott has real estate in his blood and carries on the Abbott Family Tradition. His family’s company, Abbott Realty Services, was the top employer in Northwest Florida between the 1980s through the late ’90s

Don’t be afraid to share your true authenticity
Never give up! Show up every day to practice, fail forward, and learn from mistakes made along the journey
Mindset means everything. Don’t get stuck on the emotional roller coaster because each day is a new opportunity for greatness.
