Meet Nathan Mitchell

We recently connected with Nathan Mitchell and have shared our conversation below.

Nathan, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
i feel purpose is revealed through ones passion and naturally manifested through there God given gifts. I always knew my purpose in life was associated with music. I never thought it would reach the levels that it has reached. However, I am simply thankful for my gift of music and the purpose associated with it to change lives globally.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I am a simply guy that loves life, music, and positive connections. I am a Contemporary Jazz Artist. I have been blessed to have been nominated for a Grammy Award, as well as, 3 NAACP Image Awards. I have multiple songs that have hot the top 30 of BILLBOARD including 3 number 1 songs on BILLBOARD and Mediabase charts. I am a producer and multi-instrumentalist. I have traveled 38 countries and counting sharing my love for music with people from different ethnic groups, cultures, and backgrounds and I am excited to continue this journey of music until my time on earth is complete.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The 3 qualities that I believe have excelled my career are 1) consistency 2) commitment and 3) remaining a student

You have to always be teachable. The only way you will grow is by learning how to adapt to the culture changes of today. Challenges will definitely be present, however, these 3 qualities will present great rewards at the appointed time.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
Whenever I feel overwhelmed I take a moment to disconnect by doing simple things that allow me to reset and become centered again. For instance, a simple walk. I make it a priority to walk at least 4 miles a day to just embrace life and hit the reset button. This alone charges my creativity tank.
