Meet Nazret Hezbom

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Nazret Hezbom. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Nazret, we’ve been so fortunate to work with so many incredible folks and one common thread we have seen is that those who have built amazing lives for themselves are also often the folks who are most generous. Where do you think your generosity comes from?

I feel generosity is a part of human nature. As members of the human race, it is natural to want to do good. Unless of course, life circumstances take their course. Since I was a little girl, I’ve always been a giver; I’m an empath. I’ve always believed being able to help others and having the position to do so is a blessing. I also am faithful that because of my heart, no matter what predicament I am put into I always come out better, no matter the duration. What you give is what you get in this world, and helping others is an important factor in not only helping our communities; but also in doing something for your inner spirit. My generosity comes from being a loving soul, yet also from being human.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

My name is Nazret Hezbom, aka Naz, and I’m an independent artist under the name FreestyleNaz. As an independent artist, I write, sing, and perform my own music, film productions, create cover art; the list goes on. I have been doing music independently for almost three years now, however, I started my LLC last year named NaztyProductions. What thrills me about my career is hearing/seeing the final product, and seeing others enjoy what I created. Music is my art, and is also a great therapeutic source for me.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Vulnerability, boundaries, and hustle. I choose these three because, without them, it is hard to be successful in any career. Vulnerability helps me in creating art, and some of my best works. It’s also important to know how to be vulnerable within myself and pay attention to my emotions and feelings. Whether I need a breather, some inspiration, or sleep. Boundaries are clear, and this one is a learning process as well. However, it is important to know when to take a step back and focus, and also know how to compartmentalize my relationships and information shared. Lastly, hustle is important. Everyone has a different definition of success, but no matter the goal, drive is necessary, otherwise, it won’t last. It’s not instant for everyone, and certainly a learning process for me, but obtaining a healthy level of these skills is such a relieving key, and they tie together splendidly. The best advice I could give anyone is to take the time to get to know yourself on a deeper level, as well as your interests, and take it from there.

What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?

I would say my biggest area of growth has been my overall career development. Within the last year, I’ve released three music videos, an album, and have done a few performances. I sometimes forget I’ve accomplished that in a 12-month time frame as I always feel the need to do more, but then I look back and think to myself, I have accomplished a nice amount of check marks, and I should be proud. I now have my new album soon to be released, and I am excited to push that and take a step back and smell the roses for a bit while I do so.
