Meet Nekeith Mitchell

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Nekeith Mitchell. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Nekeith below.

Hi Nekeith, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
I get my work ethic from believing in my dreams and wanting more for myself. What motivates me everyday is knowing that my future is in my hands and that I can accomplish anything I put my mind to, the sky is the limit.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I am an Actress, Model and Recoding Artist. I have a passion for creating art through film, photographer and my music. The most exciting and special part of being an artist is connecting my with my supporters, uplifting the LGBTQIA+ community and to bring diversity into the entertainment industry. Currently I am working on my up coming music video for my single “B.B.L.” which stands for Black, Beautiful and Luscious and preparing for my summer show dates. I am super excited for the future ahead!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The three qualities that were the most impactful on my journey would be the power of prayer, to have drive and self confidence. The advice I would give to anyone early in their journey would be to believe in your self, follow your intuition and to never focus on another individuals success this is your journey and your story, you got this!

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
My mother took me to the recording studio as a young child and allowed me get into recording booth. I did not know what I was doing at the time because I was so young but I remember being in front of the microphone and wanting to create music like the talented superstars that influenced me during the earlier 2000’s such as Aaliyah, Britney Spears and Destiney’s Child. By her taking me to the recording studio at a young age really changed my life forever and encouraged me to song write and to record music.
