We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Nemanja Zdravkovic. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Nemanja below.
Nemanja, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
My work ethic comes from my passion for photography. I truly love what I do, and that love pushes me to always give my best. Over the years, I’ve developed strong habits—showing up early, paying attention to the little things, and always going one step beyond what’s expected. I believe when you care about something deeply, it naturally makes you want to improve and do the job right every time.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Hi, my name is Nemanja Zdravkovic, and I was born and raised in Belgrade, Serbia. I’ve been in the photography world for almost 20 years, working across different areas before fully diving into weddings. Today, I run NZ Wedding Studio, a wedding photography business based in Los Angeles, California.
What I love most about this work is that it doesn’t feel like work. I’ve always been a visual person, and photography just fits who I am. It allows me to be creative, meet amazing people, and capture real, emotional moments. Being part of such joyful and meaningful days is truly special. Most of the time, I feel like I’m just playing and doing what I love—and that’s the best part.
At NZ Wedding Studio, we focus on telling each couple’s story in an honest and artistic way. Whether it’s a big wedding, a small elopement, or an engagement session, our goal is always to go one step beyond expectations.
We’re also growing and expanding our reach in the LA area, and I’m excited to keep meeting new people and capturing love in all its forms.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, I think the three most important qualities in my journey were:
1. Passion – Everything became easier once I found something I truly loved. I discovered photography in my early 20s, and from that point on, it never felt like a job. When you’re passionate about what you do, learning and growing happens naturally.
2. Discipline and consistency – These two helped me keep going, even during slower times. Because I loved photography so much, it was easier to stay disciplined and keep showing up every day, always trying to do better.
3. Curiosity and the desire to learn – I’ve always been open to exploring different styles and ways of working. That helped me find my own voice and personal style, which I think is really important in any creative work. The more you experiment, the more you grow.
My advice for anyone just starting out: Find something you care about deeply, and give yourself time to grow. Don’t rush it. Stay consistent, stay curious, and don’t be afraid to be different. That’s where the magic is.

What is the number one obstacle or challenge you are currently facing and what are you doing to try to resolve or overcome this challenge?
Instead of one specific thing, I would say that my childhood circumstances had the biggest impact on me. I grew up in pretty modest conditions. My parents always made sure we had what we needed—food, warmth, love—but they couldn’t always afford to give us everything we wished for as kids.
That experience taught me how to see things differently. It helped me value the basics, work harder for my goals, and really appreciate the simple things in life. I think growing up that way made me a happier and more fulfilled person overall. Today, I find joy in small moments, and I truly value things that money can’t buy.
