We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Ness. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Ness below.
Ness, so great to have you with us and thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with the community. So, let’s jump into something that stops so many people from going after their dreams – haters, nay-sayers, etc. We’d love to hear about how you dealt with that and persisted on your path.
I didn’t like who I was when I was trying to “fit in”. I loved seeing others cosplaying and expressing their own unique styles on various platforms. I really wanted to be as confident as all these other people that I was seeing. So I did the only thing that I could do: I stopped caring what other people thought and I made content about what I enjoyed. I started posting about clothes, music, cosplay and my theatre career. I love when I get a new idea and create something new.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am a senior in high school right now with plans for college later this year. Currently, I’ve been mainly focusing on my theatre career because my final high school show is coming up. It’s going to be sad to leave all of the friends that I have made along the way, but I’ll still have all the wonderful memories. Since this has been taking up a lot of my time, once it’s over I’ll be able to get back to regularly scheduled streams. I have been planning a trip to Germany and a few new cosplays that I think would be really fun to do!
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The most important things are to not care what others think, post frequently to keep your audience engaged, and post things that make you happy to create. I catch myself watching my own videos that I created because it’s the kind of content that I like to consume.
Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
My theatre director has been the most supportive for me. I told him awhile back that I enjoyed cosplaying and he was shocked at first that that was a thing I enjoyed. Since then he has learned more about my interests and been really supportive to what I do. He was the first person to tell me that other people’s opinions toward me don’t matter.
