Meet Nia Bailey

We were lucky to catch up with Nia Bailey recently and have shared our conversation below.

Nia, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

To be quite honest I’m still finding it, but I’m sure that my purpose is to make people feel seen and heard, loved and valued, appreciated and respected and most importantly, introduce them to Jesus Christ. Our journey on earth is short.

We are all passing through. My goal and purpose is for people to spend eternity in heaven. I never want anyone to hear the words from God, “And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me…”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7‬:‭23‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

God is love. Jesus is love.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

At this point in my life, I really want to make sure I make it clear— please follow Jesus Christ.

“For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.””
‭‭Romans‬ ‭10‬:‭10‬-‭11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2‬:‭8‬-‭9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.””
‭‭Acts‬ ‭16‬:‭31‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

For me, the three qualities that shaped my journey the most are humility, kindness, and agape love.

My mom always taught me that “life isn’t that serious.”

There are things in life that should absolutely be taken seriously—but the things that aren’t, don’t give them power. That mindset has protected my peace and supported my mental, emotional, and spiritual health. Learn this early. Practice it often.

And don’t take yourself too seriously either. Be proud of who you are and who you’re becoming—but keep perspective. At the end of the day, when God says:

“Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord.”
— Matthew 25:21 (NKJV)

He won’t mention your titles, your accolades, or your résumé. He’ll look at how you served, how you loved, and how you obeyed Him.

So my advice is simple:
* Be humble. It keeps your heart aligned.
* Be kind. It softens you and strengthens others.
* Show God’s agape love. It will carry you through anything.

And remember: the greatest book you will ever read is the Bible. It will always remain true, relevant, and transformational.

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?

Sheesh. Honestly? Everything.

My parents are absolutely amazing. I’m both a daddy’s girl and a mommy’s girl to my core. They poured so much wisdom into me—yes through conversations, but even more through the way they lived. I learned the most by watching them.

They always showed up for people.

They always kept their word—and if they couldn’t, they took accountability.

They always referenced and praised God, and very specifically Jesus Christ.

They taught me the power of my voice.

They taught me humility, agape love, kindness, and compassion.

What they did for me—and still do for me—is beautifully unexplainable. My brother and I are fully grown, yet they continue to show up for us as if we were still little children. That kind of love is rare. It is sacred. And it is not lost on us.
I am—we are—incredibly blessed to have them as parents. They are the definition of Agape Love.

Agape is a Greek term for selfless, unconditional, sacrificial love—love that seeks the best for others without expecting anything in return. It is the highest form of love, modeled by God Himself and the love Christians are called to show one another. It is patient, forgiving, intentional, and kind.

That’s who my parents are.

That’s what they’ve given me.

Love you, Curry J. Bailey III and Narda Joan Fields
