Meet Nicholas Smith

We recently connected with Nicholas Smith and have shared our conversation below.

Nicholas , sincerely appreciate your selflessness in agreeing to discuss your mental health journey and how you overcame and persisted despite the challenges. Please share with our readers how you overcame. For readers, please note this is not medical advice, we are not doctors, you should always consult professionals for advice and that this is merely one person sharing their story and experience.

I never truly “overcame” my mental health challenges, but over the past 2 years I can wholeheartedly say that it has became a lot easier to manage. I deal with a lot of depression, and that stuff ain’t no joke. My coping mechanism is through music & just being out in nature communicating with God & the universe. So to anyone out there who also is dealing with things that they don’t speak about or make known, you gotta keep going even when you feel like you can’t. I know times are tough, but you are even tougher. Love yourself through it all, the ups & the downs! I promise you on the other side is a beautiful person you’ve always knew you’d become.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

What’s up everybody, it’s your boy 2Tr1ll I am a up & coming music artist looking to take the world by storm! But it’s not just about music with me, I want to use my voice, my story, & my God given gifts to make the world a better place. Or try to! New music dropping real soon, & you can find me on any streaming platform as 2Tr1ll.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

The three most important qualities or skills that were most impactful in my journey? Easy, one is you gotta have patience. Sometimes we want things right then & there but that’s not how God works. Have faith and just trust in him every step of the way & just enjoy the process! Number two is you have to have compassion. Not just for others but have some compassion for yourself. We put a lot of unwarranted pressure on ourselves at times & forget that we are still learning and evolving in this thing we call life. And lastly, you have to be open to love. Loving yourself more, spreading love to others more, & just doing everything you can to just be better!

Alright, so before we go we want to ask you to take a moment to reflect and share what you think you would do if you somehow knew you only had a decade of life left?

I would spend it exactly how I am now. Just being my original authentic loving self, spreading love, wisdom, & being more open/vulnerable to help any and everyone who could use a shoulder. That’s why I love music so much. I know what’s it’s like to not have anyone, or to feel alone like you don’t even matter. I will spend the rest of my lifetime doing all that I can to connect and be a guide to those who really need somebody.
