We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Nick, I AM. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Nick, I AM below.
Hi Nick, I AM, so excited to have you with us today, particularly to get your insight on a topic that comes up constantly in the community – overcoming creativity blocks. Any thoughts you can share with us?
Firstly, I discovered that “Writers Block” does not exist. We all can talk and think which means we can write. When I thought I had “Writer’s Block in 2022, I attended a “Writer’s Block” workshop curated by a Virginia native poet named H.I.M. The Poet. While attending this workshop, another poet said, “We are the most creative when we are our highest self.” At first, I did not understand what he meant and then he explained. He said, “Ask yourself, what is blocking you creatively?” Instantaneously, I stopped everything I was doing, and pulled on the side of the road to hear God speak to me. God provided me with the answer and afterward, I went to the beach to write a K POP-inspired song called “Wanna Party” by Nick, I AM. All in all, I discovered that my creativity does not flow continuously when I am not one with myself. However, when I am at peace, I can easily create the music I want to make with ease.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The three most important skills that have been the most impactful for my music journey have been the ability to pray, research, and properly utilizing time management skills. Above all, God leads and guides my path. I am nothing and cannot do anything without God. Secondly, in the music industry, Independent Artists must do their research and make sure their business is in alignment with their goals. Lastly, time management has been the biggest challenge that I have had to overcome. Time is money. For example, when an artist pays for studio time, whether one is on time or late, the total amount is due at the end of the recording studio session.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I manifest collaborating with Music Investors, clothing brands, music supervisors, and Music Directors in Television as well as Film. They can connect with me via email at [email protected].
