Meet Nick Massey

We recently connected with Nick Massey and have shared our conversation below.

Nick, appreciate you making time for us and sharing your wisdom with the community. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others overcame obstacles can be helpful. One of those struggles is keeping creativity alive despite all the stresses, challenges and problems we might be dealing with. How do you keep your creativity alive?
Other Artist, Whether they make music, write, or draw just other creators in general drive me forward.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I am an artist of all sorts I create in a variety of medium digital, traditional, mixed media, photography, film, and poetry. I’m Easily inspired by so much in my life and expressing through the many different mediums is usually just through how i translate the kind of creativity at the time. I think the most special part about my art though is how imaginative it can be even through a realistic medium my art has heavy emotional and imaginative like styles that play with the thoughts of mental health but also freedom and the inner child. I often do pop ups around Atlanta selling prints and showings at galleries too! My next showing is actually at The University of West Georgia from August 28th to September 28th with the main reception on September 5th.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
My most important message for anyone out there that creates is to create for you whether you want to teach with your creation or explore yourself or just vent to the world make sure your not creating for the next upcoming trend and to stick to what you enjoy your audience will find you. My best advice for the people starting out is try to take things lightly allow yourself to mess up share your mistakes and continue to make them. I have made some of my best works from working off of mistakes don’t be afraid to hate what you make its the best way to grow your creativity, but also stay inspired I have a side page that full of art inspiration even when I’m not creating I am scrolling through that page going through ideas.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I am always looking forward to helping and collabing with other artist like myself no matter what you create. I just enjoy being able to share similar ideas with people and to merge them into bigger ideas while building new connections. If anyone reading this and would like to even bounce ideas back and forth you can always dm me on Instagram @cloudnixk.
