Meet Nick Reeder

We were lucky to catch up with Nick Reeder recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Nick , thanks for sitting with us today to chat about topics that are relevant to so many. One of those topics is communication skills, because we live in an age where our ability to communicate effectively can be like a superpower. Can you share how you developed your ability to communicate well?
My journey to develop effective communication skills has involved active listening, continuous learning, seeking feedback, cultivating empathy, practicing clarity, and adapting to diverse audiences. This ongoing process has strengthened my ability to connect, collaborate, and succeed in various personal and professional endeavors.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I am Nick, co-owner of Frios Dallas. We are a gourmet popsicle company specializing in unique and delicious desserts! I consider myself more than just an owner, I take pride in being a Happiness Hustler! As a happiness hustler I’m actively seeking to promote happiness and well-being in my own life and the lives of others. I embrace a positive mindset, adopt habits that cultivate happiness, and inspire others to do the same. I sell more than pops, we try to make sure you leave a little more happier than when you arrived.
We have been serving the Dallas area for the last 3 years. Bringing gourmet hand poured pops to our community. We are happy to announce that we will now be serving in the Ellis County, N. Arlington, Allen and Plano communities as well!
We are grateful for the growth, and excited to get more of our delicious pops out into the Metroplex.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Self-Awareness and Reflection: Developing self-awareness is crucial for personal growth. Take time to reflect on your strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement. Identify the qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that are most important for your journey, and set clear goals to develop or improve in those areas. Seek feedback from others and be open to constructive criticism. Regularly assess your progress and adjust your approach accordingly.

Lifelong Learning and Curiosity:
Adopting a mindset of lifelong learning is essential for personal growth and development. Embrace curiosity and actively seek out opportunities to expand your knowledge and skills. Read books, take courses, attend workshops or seminars, and engage in discussions with experts or peers. Stay up-to-date with current trends and developments in your field of interest

Persistence and Resilience:
Building qualities like persistence and resilience is essential to overcome challenges and setbacks on your journey. Understand that personal growth takes time and effort. Stay committed to your goals, even when faced with obstacles or moments of self-doubt. Embrace failures as learning experiences and use them to fuel your motivation. Cultivate a positive mindset and practice self-care to maintain your energy and enthusiasm.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
This will sound cheesy but the Bible, The Bible provides a moral and ethical framework that guides me in making decisions and navigating ethical dilemmas. It offers teachings on virtues such as love, compassion, forgiveness, and integrity, which can shape one’s character and behavior.
