Meet NICOLAS HOSPITAEL

We recently connected with NICOLAS HOSPITAEL and have shared our conversation below.

Hi NICOLAS, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.

That’s a tough one. I’d say my optimism comes from a deliberate choice to see the world as a good place. It’s something I’ve cultivated through challenges in my life. Over time, I’ve learned that while I can’t always control what happens, I CAN control how I respond to things. And really, no one likes to fell desperate, right? So for me, staying optimistic and positive has become both a habit and a kind of defense mechanism at this point.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I’m an international actor from France, now based in Los Angeles. One thing I find most exciting about myself is that I approach the world like a fresh canvas, while always keeping the mindset of a learner. As actors, our job is to constantly discover new things and sometimes even making it look as if we’re experts. I believe that this willingness to stay open and ready to learn is a trait that’s often underestimated, and I believe that it is one of my greatest strengths.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Acting is an incredibly challenging career. It requires more than just talent and demands a constant broadening of your skill set. But if I had to choose three indispensable qualities for an actor, I would say: creativity, resilience, and patience. Creativity because it allows us to bring authenticity and imagination to every role; resilience because it helps us navigate the inevitable setbacks, rejections, and uncertainties of this profession; and finally patience is essential because growth is often slow, and not every actor gets to shine early like many A-list stars.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?

I simply workout or take a walk when I feel overwhelmed. Moving my body helps me clear my mind, release tension, and regain perspective. After a walk/workout, I feel relaxed, calmer and more focus.
